I got a mailing from the Children's Health Insurance Program today. It just amazes me how stupid they think that people are. This is what it said:
I got more annoyed the more I typed that. No wonder the general population thinks this stuff.

| The Outreach team got on board the immunization train. This was to celebrate National Infant Immunization Awareness week from April 22-29. The goal was to teach parents about shots. They gave away brochures, shot schedules, gifts and contact numbers. They also visited clinics and fairs. Members learned where they can get shots for their children. Shots are safe. Every child needs to be kept safe as they grow up. Even adults should get shots. They should be given between birth and age 18. Shots stop measles, mumps, Hepatitis B, chicken pox, pneumonia and other diseases. These diseases can cause illness or death. Do you know why we get shots? A shot gets the body used to a germ in a safe way. The body can biuld up a way to guard against a disease. This is called antibodies. Kids can get their shots at no charge. They can go to the health departmen, doctor's office, or a clinic. Before kids go to Head Start and school they must show proof that their shots are up to date. |

: Having been on medicaid and state health insurance I used to get these "informational" mailings all of the time.
