I think that without this element, few of us would question as much as we do once we knew what the 'right' thing to do was.

A non vaxing quilt would be so cool though! It could have squares dedicated to vax injured children as well as those who have had what the vax is to protect against and they survived the "illness" and are fine. It could be ginormous like the AIDS quilt and displayed on the White House lawn.

Now that would be one amazing quilt.

Konur is much better today, the gland is much smaller and he ate a lot at breakfast and was trying to play, but got very crabby so he is down and quiet for a while resting. I don't know if it was the meds or just his time to get better, maybe a little of each. He is also relearning how to get milk, he had forgotten how even though he never stopped trying. Weirdest thing. I know the breastmilk had a part as well.

I feel worse today, dag-nabbit.

Lori, I'm sorry Konur was so sick but glad he is on the mend!!!!!!
On the subject of guilt related to vaxes; I will never be able to get rid of the guilt I feel (at least I haven't figured how to yet) I did completely vax Shea and partially vaxed Coby (I can't ever take it back even though I so wish I could). I hope almost everyday that they will not develope any problems from the vaxes. I don't know if that is helpful at all but I wanted to share that with you.

I'm sorry you feel worse today. I hope you get well soon!!!!!!

P.S. I can't believe Mali is 2, damn time flies.

Lori, would it help you to know about the guilt that I carry around? I fully vaxed my first 2, I didn't have internet access or know anyone who didn't vax, so of course, there was no "non vax" option. DS (as well as one of my brother's sons) has severe developmental & learning disabilities, speech delays and ADD. His problems started after his 6 month shots, but it wasn't until much, much later that I connected the two. Honestly, would you rather your child got mumps, which is actually a very mild disease that at most causes discomfort but no real harm, or develop the kinds of issues my son (and my nephew, and millions of other kids) has? I'm NOT lessening your son's illness - #3, who is unvaxed, got RSV, plus asthma and bronchitis, all at once, at 6 months old. It was terrifying. The pediatric ER doctor ripped me a new one for not vaxing, and in my "new to not vaxing" state, I had a few minutes of serious freak out. Sure there's an RSV shot, but it's pretty much only for preemies. So getting him his shots would have done no good, plus they weaken the immune system and he could have been much sicker.

Parenting is about making choices and you made a choice, and a darn good one at that (IMO), to not vax. You can't look back and second guess yourself.

Hi Heather! *big hug*

She will be 2 in like 3 weeks, how wild is that?

Konur is doing better, dh took him out back to play some ball for a few minutes so he's all happy 'bout that.

Yes, that does help put things in perspective. Thank-you for sharing that and I am so sorry about what happened. I think me being sick added to my over reaction and guilt.

You are right that I can't second guess myself now and I do so appreciate your words of comfort and wisdom.
