And the midwife couldn't find the heartbeat.
I'm 10 1/2 weeks. I'm feeling quite upset because I really wanted to hear the baby. I wanted some reassurance, and got none.
Anyway, I agreed to an ultrasound for dating purposes, I know my dates even if she doesn't believe I do. It's for reassurance, not dating purposes.
I've had problems with this particular mw in previous pregnancies. She has a tendency to make negative comments that really bother me.
The last baby was born the last evening that my better liked mw was on call for births just in the nick of time.
So I'm hoping to get a call about an ultrasound soon.

Good luck with your ultrasound- can you find another midwife? Sounds like the relationship isn't working for you.

I just wanted to respond and say that my midwife said closer to 12 weeks is when you should hear the baby...and she said if you don't hear it at 12 weeks, it could even just be that the uterus is tilted back and it is harder to hear. Good luck Mama!! Sara

I've had them try the doppler at that time, and get nothing, and have a bouncing baby several months later . Boo to your mw. Hope that u/s shows you a wiggly little babe!

I had my first visit with my MW at 10.5 exactally (I know the DAY this baby was created, infact I tested pos 7 days after we DTD!)

She wasn't able to find the HB.
I got a doppler at 11.5w and found it on my first try! (altho it took awhile...)
