it's funny, one of the comments i got was from a girl who said "so, Mrs. D, if a piece of the penis is cut off, then it's technically smaller, and if so many nerve endings are taken away, then it's less sensitive. i don't get it... in a country where men value size and sexual pleasure so much, why would they continue to do this?" wow, what a smart girl! she came up with all of that on her own!

Are there sweeter words for a teacher to hear than "I never looked at it that way before?"

Because you brought this up in class and opened it up as a topic for intelligent discussion, it WILL get discussed amongst your students (as I sure it already has). The more they talk, the more they think, the less likely they are to perpetuate the myths and misinformation flying around out there - and the less likely they are to circumcise their own children!
