When were you able to hear the hb w/ doppler

Hello everyone,

I had my first mw appt. yesterday (today I am 11wks 1 day) and it was great, they said my uterus is right on cue. Then we tried the doppler to see if we could hear the hb (50% chance I was told). No luck, I was so dissappointed! When were you able to hear it?

I heard it for the first time at 12 weeks and I am not a little gal

If you want you can hear it here...

I went into the OB at 10 weeks 5 days and she could not pick up the heartbeat on the doppler so she did an ultrasound.

At my 11 week appt. we also didn't hear the heartbeat (tried for 10 mins.) I was disappointed and very slightly worried but I read up on it and it really isn't a common occurence at that stage. I did hear it 2 weeks later though!

Best wishes!

I heard the hb with this one at 9w6d, with my second dd I think it was around the same time. It probably depends on how fast your uterus is stretching upward out of the pelvic brim, and also where the little baby has implanted in the uterus. If babe is hanging out near the top of it vs. down closer to the cervix, I imagine you would hear it sooner?

my MW tried at 10.5 and no luck.

I rented a doppler and was able to find it at 12w

We were able to hear it at my appointment last week - I was 11 weeks exactly.

We heard it at 11 weeks and some days.

We heard it this time at 11 weeks, but with my last baby we didn't hear it until 13. The midwife informed me that my baby is unusually close to the surface of my abdomen, though, so I'd imagine that's why. Don't be envious, it's giving me serious abdomenal pain!

9wks exactally. But my uterus was well over my pelvic bone so I'm sure that has something to do with it

I was 11 weeks and 3 days. But friend of mine did not hear it at 11 weeks.

12 weeks - that's how we knew I wasn't 8 weeks, like I thought, LOL.

(Well, that and my huge uterus).

The earliest I've ever gotten heart tones on a client is 8wks3days and the latest I've ever gotten them (for the first time) is 16wks. Incidentally, it was on the same client, but two different pregnancies.

I just heard it this week at exactly 12 weeks, 5 days.

I heard it this week at 11 1/2 wks! The nurse spent extra time searching for it, since I had a m/c last pregnancy and have been nervous about this one. It was such a wonderful sound!!!

No dice at 11 wks 6 days, but not worried. I did hear dd at 12 weeks. This time I have the reassurance of feeling movement, if not I honestly probably would have gotten an u/s.

I think with dd we heard it for the first time at 11ish weeks. I have an appointment next week and expect to hear a hb.....I'll be 13.5 weeks.

I have SEEN it twice on ultrasound though!

We heard ds1 and ds2 both around 10 weeks. My midwife tried at 9 weeks with this babe, but we did not have any luck. I had just seen it on the u/s 2 days before so I'm not worried. I am looking foward to hearing it at my appt next week.
