wiped out

I just need to get this off my chest. My dd had a high fever for 2 days and 3 nights. I don't think I slept more than 4 hours each night. Her fever finally seems to have broken this morning, but she's still cranky and can't sleep unless she is on top of me. I can't nap this way. I feel like my head is going to explode from sleep deprivation. I feel so sorry for her being sick, but the whining, crying and clinging is starting to take an enormous toll on my sanity.

My mom just left last week after staying with us for a month. She is in the early stages of Alzheimers, so she can be challenging to be around at times. She also hurt her back badly while she was here, so we had to deal with getting her to a doctor, taking her to physical therapy (which didn't help) and reminding her to take her pills. She hurts her back almost every time she comes to visit because she picks up dd. I tell her not to over and over, but of course she can't remember. Oh, and her sister, my aunt, lives near us and is always involved when my mom is here. She treats me so badly that I finally emailed her and told her that I wouldn't have contact with her anymore.

I just can't believe I've been in the first trimester of my pregnancy through all this. Things have to get easier soon, right?

Thanks for reading if you've made it through this whole long complaining post.

I sat in shock reading this.. how are you still alive?

I have to get in bed at 9 to guarantee being asleep by 10, I get up around 8, and then I nap during the middle of the day and I STILL feel like I'm going to die of sleep deprivation. Granted, I have other health issues, but STILL.

Oh honey, I'm wishing you early second trimester bliss with every fiber of me. Good luck, and here, let me *bow down to the strongest of pregnant mamas!*

I hope that your dd is well on her way to full recovery. Then you can get some sleep! I know how tough it is.

Take it easy.

Thanks for your kind words.

Dd's fever did go up again yesterday and we took her to the dr in the evening because she had a rattle in her chest. They gave her a bronchodilator (sp?) to help her breathe and it really seemed to help. The dr said she has no fluid in her lungs, which is a good thing! Her fever seems to really be gone today. (knock on wood) She slept in the other room with her dad and I actually got to sleep!

(((HUGS))). The fatigue and exhaustion are hard to deal with, especially when you've got other little ones under the weather. My two have been fighting a virus on and off this week, and it was the last week of school, so my kindergarten has been sad and moody.

I feel for you . . . sounds like your daughter's on the mend. Hope she continues to get well and you can get some much needed rest!
