Things I've actually said/been asked over the past two weeks:

1. Yes, I had the baby. This is the cat.

2. No, I'm not having twins.

3. Yes, I'm still pregnant (as they stand in front of you, asking)

4. No, it's a girl. Really, it's a girl. Yes, I'm sure. I HAD AMNIO, IT'S A GIRL! (I'm huge and carrying all in front)

5. Yes, I'm still here (in response to the neighbor lady who asks me this every time I walk by her. She then launches into her own delivery story. Same thing every time. I'm avoiding her house now)

6. Yes, I know I'm huge. Thank you (in response to someone talking about me in a check out line, like I was a sideshow or on TV without the ability to actually HEAR them)

7. (my favorite, when asked when I'm due) Sunday. No..last Sunday (5/21).

8. (internal reaction when someone who has never been overdue lectures me about being patient)

So...anyone else care to add theirs??
Figured I'd try to add some humor to the situation.

1. After showing my MIL pictures we had taken last weekend she e-mails and says, "You are quite large my dear..." as if I hadn't noticed

2. Do they have you scheduled for a sec yet? (as in c-section) -Pompous Woman in shopping mall

3. Are you totally confident that you'll be able to push the baby out if he keeps growing? -DH's uncle

4. Can you hurry up and have this baby we need to make plans of when to come? -Loving IL's again

5. Don't you feel guilty for having your children THAT close together (17 months)? -Friend of family

6. You guys will be done now right? (#2 and we're still young...) -my loving mother!

And my favorite....

7. "Ya'll have homebirths??? Aren't ya'll scared the kid's gonna die???" - Neighbors response after we told her we don't have a hospital picked out b/c we HB

People are so oblivious. They don't realize we want the baby out more that ANYONE else!!!

Ok, since today is my edd, I'm not "offically" over, but ppl can be quite rude and oblivious, lol. I think it's funny because ppl at my fiance's work keep asking him, "Did she have the baby yet??". I told him to say, "Yes, she's having it right now, but I thought I would be unsupportive and come to work to get away from her".

I'm done with work now, but when I was working ppl would always say "YOU ARE HUGE!!" Gee, thanks, I had not noticed.

I've been having some evil fun with these ideas...
Tell the fam "It's really a kidney disease"
Go on public transit and when baby kicks have an alien puppet pop out!
Have Dh carry a sling w/ a doll whenever we get out of the van at a family function! Especially tempting this Memorial day, with family BBq's all over! We almost did this yesterday to a birthday party, but I forgot the sling!

My least fave comment comes from MIL,who I have not spoken to in a week now,but will see her tomorrow at a bbq."I'm just so worried about you!"as if I did not survive the last 3 babies! All home births, the last in water....She's a drama addict, and I have little appreciation, especially at this point.I'm thinking of really tearing into her "concerns" tomorrow at the bbq,and turning the tables a bit. What is she really getting at?which of HER insecurities is she so selfishly trying to put on me in my vulnerable state?and why does she insist on being so unsupportive and cruel in the guise of her "concern"?She litterally asked for it,and I may just have to give it to her.

I'm normally a very polite brithish raised young lady. But a week plus overdue after sucking up all these comments from society,I just may be forced to use some frank honesty about the situation! The very thing most of these comments are so polar opposite to.Anyone living in the truth of this kindly holds their tounge,or changes the subject,or very best makes a joke about something totally irrelevant!

Now,I have to get ready to haul the family off to church, where the last 2 births were sceduled c-sections,so I get all the anxieties 3x more.....I'm sure I will come home with some really good comments for this thread!

My little sister is trying to convince me to hide a water bottle on me everywhere I go, and if I want to break to the front of a line or just shock people, I can spill it on the floor and scream "MY WATER BROKE!!!"

Yesterday:

Woman: So when are you due?
Me: September
Woman, wide-eyed: No kidding?
Me: Of course I'm kidding. (Turn my back on her.)

Sick. Of. People.

That is too funny...yesterday DH called his store to find out when he was working the next day. After he got his schedule the employee asked if the baby was born yet, and I thought the same thing - if DH's first thought after the baby's birth was, "I wonder when I go in tomorrow?" I think we would have a problem.

I have said this before but my biggest annoyance is when people ask TO MY FACE if I have had "that baby" yet. COME ON!!!!
