I would say 5 or 6, depending on how mature they are for that age I guess. My son never would answer the phone and just started in the last few years but I can totally see my 4 yr old wanting to start doing it in the next year or so. I don't like getting on the phone much and hardly answer it myself anyway so I don't mind. Maybe it will keep the telemarketers away. hehe

DD is 4 and has been answering our home phone for about 6 months. She doesn't need to write messages because I'm right there & It's nice not to have to run to the phone before the machine picks up....Telemarketers just hang up when they hear her voice. They usually don't have time to play around with a kid on the phone. She says "Hello, This is Adia, Who is it?" If it's a friend of mine (that she knows) they usually talk a bit before she hands me the phone saying "Mommy, It's so and so".
I think it's tooo cute!!!
