I didn't connect the dots with it being nursing related. I wonder why?

I always have a sweet tooth (which I try desperately to control) but now that I think about it, it probably is even stronger these days... I also have noticed that on days when Elliot nurses a ton and I don't eat anything for a few hours I get kinda hypo-glycemic-feeling... a little shaky and light-headed, etc... I wonder if making milk uses up a lot of carbs and that's why we crave more sweets. (I read somewhere that the bigger the brain of a mammal, the more glucose in the milk... and humans have more glucose in their milk than any other mammal... all that glucose has to come from somewhere).: (ohhhh, chance to use a cool new smilie, even if it doesn't totally fit!! )

I have always had a sweet tooth - but it does seem pretty out of control these days!

i keep wandering into the baking cabinet to get a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips 'cause that's the only sweet thing we have in our house. :

i have always had a sweet tooth too but yes, its so out of control. dh will buy me my favorite cookies and they are gone. and i still eat them knowing i feel like a big fat cow! we are actually oinking over here!
i have always eaten what i wanted to without much consequence...but with the restrictions on my activity level now (which are of no excuse right now b/c the warmer weather is here), i think food is causing a reaction in my body.

its really a horrible cycle im in that i need to get out of.

I sprinkle them on peanut butter to make myself feel better about sneaking them! At least that way I'm getting some protein.

I'm glad bfing is helping me lose the weight or I'd be in real trouble. It's all chocolate for me--I have to get some daily. And DH has been such a sweetie since the birth that he keeps buying me chocolate cake, which is really dangerous. He felt really bad because I had kind of a tough labor. I thought the husband guilt would wear off by now, but I won't complain!

I always have one, but I think it has been a bit worse lately, actually. We've just gotten past a slew of birthdays and such too. I don't want to think about how much cake I've eaten.

Me too. Especially for chocolate, but anything sweet will do.

DH is trying to shed his pregnancy weight (since he's not breastfeeding it's hanging around longer for him) so I'm sneaking around eating ice cream and chocolates when he's not looking.

here is a great recipe. it's easy and you don't feel as guilty. 1 box of chocolate cake mix. 15 oz pureed pumpkin (pumpkin pie filling). mix and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Add walnuts and chocolate chips and they are super yummy!
