anybody else having a killer sweet tooth? - Page 2

Ditto with the breasfeeding enabling me to eat more and not get whopping fat.... but I got disturbed recently when I realized my weightloss had leveled off and I'd started re-gaining... I thought bfing was supposed to be the magical cure for all weight gain?!? So I've made sure that I don't eat anything after like 9pm and now I've gotten re-rid of those couple extra pounds. Hehe.

OMG - YES!! I'm glad it's not just me !

I can't go a day without some chocolate, and am always craving cookies. Actually, I've been pretty big on snacking in general

Ooops, double post. I guess I just wanted to emphasize how strong my sweet tooth has been!

Hoo-boy yes! The last week has just been out of control! I think DS hit his 6 month growth spurt a week earlier and he's eating a lot more. I'll never forget that feeling of being ravenous the day or two after he was born... it's almost been like that, but I only want junk! :

bfing is not helping me shed pounds.

It's helping me a little, but not as much as other BFers would have made me think. I've only lost about 10 pounds in 5 months, with 12 pounds to go. : But like the other posters, I am NOT eating as healthfully as I should. And now that I'm a SAHM, it's even harder. Before, I would pack myself great healthy lunches, in just the right serving sizes, and now I have food galore at my fingertips all day.

I'm actually really surprised it's working for me. I usually can't lose weight to save my life. Exercise, diet, etc.--nothing usually works. I gained so much during the pregnancy that my midwife had me watching my carbs! I was so upset--I'd always figured that you could eat whatever you wanted during the pregnancy sweets wise as long as you are getting good nutrition in the rest of your diet. From month 1 to 6 I had morning sickness, and from 5 to 8 I could barely eat anything because I was gaining so much. I was SO hungry! It's nice to get a break now. Metabolism's a funny thing.

Oh my goodness, yes. I wonder what would happen if a nursing mama just couldn't lose those pregnancy pounds and went on an eating plan of vegetables and meat with hardly any sugar or flour (aka low carb diet)? Would she lose weight like mad?

I too have always had a sweet tooth. An out of control one at that. But now its like, thats all I want night and day. I don't want any meat or crabs, just sweets.

Shirley Temples and Rocky Road ice cream are my staples right now
