Ok ladies, I've had a crock pot for over a year now and I have never taken it out of the package and used it!! PLEASE give me some easy and yummy crock pot recipes!! I love beans so any recipe with beans is great!! Or pasta, mmm.

Here is what I don't like, so if we can avoid recipes that are primarily these ingredients, that would be great.

Tomatoes (i like tomatoe soup, but not tomatoes, weird huh)
Mushrooms
Peas
Seafood

THANKS SO MUCH!!

There is a fabulous crock pot cookbook called "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook" by Beth Hensperger (sp?) who also wrote the wonderful "Bread Bible."

This is not a "open a can of soup, add a pound of Velveeta" kind of slow cooker cookbook. It's real food.

Yup, this was going to be my suggestion, too!

If you eat meat, the molasses ribs are a must-try. I thought my DH was going to cry when I made them. They were goooood!

If you eat meat my favorite dish in the crock pot is pulled BBQ pork. I cook a port roast all day with some onions, BBQ sauce and seasonings. Then when its done I take it out of the crock pot and pour in more BBQ sauce and pull the meat apart. Slap it on some rolls and have sandwhiches.

Another one I do is chicken dumplings. Chicken broth, onions, celery, carrots, and when I get home drop spoon fulls of the dumpling mix and its done.

Thanks! Bookmarked! Am also checking out the thread linked in a previous post above. That baby is about 13 pages long - if I can't find a crock pot recipe there I'm in trouble.

yummmmmmm...
CROCKPOT MEATBALLS

I adapted this from a meat version.

Meatballs

For the meatballs I used one package of the sausage flavor Gimme Lean.
I
used equal amounts of plain re-hydrated TVP and mixed it in with the
Gimme’
Lean since the brand name stuff is so expensive. Then I used the
mixture to
form the meatballs and placed them in a crockpot.

Sauce for Meatballs

¼ c. mayonnaise (I used Nayonaise)
¾ c. brown sugar
1 c. catsup
1 tsp. dry mustard
¼ c. lemon juice
½ c. vinegar
¼ c. soy sauce
¼ c. water
¼ tsp. garlic salt

Mix together in a bowl. Pour over meatballs in crockpot to simmer. I
added
more ketchup then the recipe called for because I thought it tasted a
little
too vinegary. Easy! The secret to the flavor I think is the Gimme’
Lean.
Enjoy.
