Tell me about cloth diapers - Page 2

I work full-time and CD part-time. As others have mentioned, some daycare providers will CD, some will not. In my area, it is very hard to find an in-home daycare (which was our preference) that will CD, because the state requires them to take extra training on CDs and sanitary issues. It is a little easier to find a center that will CD.

At home, we go through phases of CD, and phases of sposies. When work is really stressful, and I don't feel like I can give up even the negligible amount of time that it takes to do the extra two loads of laundry a week, I just put DS in sposies and try not to feel too bad about it. When things are going a little more smoothly, we use cloth. The only problem with switching back and forth like this is that now that DS is a toddler, he is expressing a preference for sposies, and sometimes won't let me put a cloth dipe on him. Having cute cloth dipes with pictures that he likes on them does help a bit.

I didn't think Gerbers were bad, at all. They've always been easy for me.

I had my dd in childcare and used CDs. I'd just give her a bag and she'd put them in there, it was no big deal. But she was in home, I don't know if a big daycare would do it.

My ped told me he thought that diaper services probably negated any environmental benefit because of the chemicals they use. I don't know if this is true, but he just said they came back way whiter than they should have been. It would warrant further research.

My daycare wouldn't do cloth diapers - we had to provide the disposables. We just CD'ed at home. I still think it was worth it, though.

Daycare WAS really conscientious about storing, heating, and feeding DD my breastmilk so that was more important to me - KWIM?

Question - potty training and cloth diapers

My daughter is 22 months and I was thinking about starting potty training. I never used cloth diapers as I did not know anything about them and thought washing them would be overwhelming. I often wonder about switching though. What would you do to switch when your child is almost two years old? What do you do when you start potty training them? Thank you.
