Hi everyone! Know I haven't been here long but I thought I would post and tell everyone that my little guy came this morning. I was expecting another long labor - DS #1 took 45 hours to make it into the world - so I thought it would be good if it only took 20 this time....
At 9:21 last night I had my first contraction and it took every bit of concentration I had to get through it. 3 minutes later another one came lasting 1 minute. The pattern continued until I got into the birthing tub, they stalled for about 15 minutes and then became even stronger and closer together.
The MW got here around 11 p.m., checked me, told me I was at a 7. I was convinced I couldn't make it, but with my WONDERFUL MW and her INCREDIBLE assistant MW's I did. About an hour later the MW told me I could try pushing if it felt better. I tried, and it did, but then I got scared! After another couple of contractions I knew the only thing I could do at that point was push the baby out. 4 good pushes and 7 minutes later my sweet baby boy was born into the water.
Labor was VERY, VERY intense but lasted only 3 hours. We're all doing great. I have a tiny tear that they didn't need to stitch and my little guy is sound asleep. DS #1 (17 mo.'s) thinks his brother is great and has already tried to feed him Shredded Mini-Wheats!!!!
I'm going to go take a nap now, but best of luck to all of you mama's out there who are waiting for your little ones to come AND congrats to all of you who are already enjoying your beautiful new babies!!!!
