SOY is in everything.. desperately seeking more food alternatives

DS's doctor has recommended a elimination/rotation diet for ds due to circles under his eyes. For the next 2 weeks we are eliminating soy from his diet. It is so hard to find products that do not contain soy! Crackers, bagels, ice cream - even some rice milk contains soy. Aside from whole foods and foods cooked from scratch anyone have any suggestions for yummy snacks that do not contain soy????? In 2 weeks we will be eliminating wheat from his diet if his undereyes do not improve. I am also following the same diet as ds as I feel like he always has the eye shiners even while just exclusively nursing...Any suggestions would be great! Also as vegetarians I am concerned about eliminating soy as this is our large protein source.

My son is also allergic to soy and eggs. Here's what I've learned so far: almost everything in a package contains soy. For snacks we do fruit, applesauce, veggies, raisins, kefir. I make my bread from scratch or he doesn't eat bread. If you need to fry something, use olive or corn oil...no vegetable oil. Not all ice crram has soy--try the natural brands--I think Breyer's is soy free.

In a pimch I've found a few junk foods that don't have soy---pringles, of all things, do not have soy.

Watch out for fast food! Everywhere except Chick fil a fries their food in soybean oil.

Pringles? Or corn chips. With salsa.

I wouldn't do corn oil, either. Stick with olive or virgin coconut oil.

Rice snacks/cakes can be found without soy or wheat. Graham crackers by Honey Maid have no soy, but do have wheat. Try raisins and dates. Dried, unsulfured fruit. Rice Krispies is soy-free. Rice Dream is soy-free, but it's laced with casein.

It may take longer than 2 weeks for you to notice a difference. Good luck!

Not sure how old your son is? These suggestions are from my diet, so maybe not appropriate if he's two!

pringles have wheat.

There are some really yummy bars called Lara bars, which are everything but nut free.

Corn flakes are wheat/soy/dairy free.

Apparrently Fleishmann's light margarine is soy/dairy free.

Lindt 85% chocolate is soy free.

But you really need to move countries - I can't beleive how common soy is in America!
