Teethers Unite!

Anybody else in teething wonderland? Kali is sticking everything in her mouth. She seems to be particular to anything red, including a piece of guatemalan fabric, DS's toy play, and a feng shui book. She also likes a toy turtle from a baby book that says it' sNOT for teething (yikes), plastic scoops and a cotton stuffed peapod. And of course fingers. I'd like to get her directed towards more non-plastic stuff, but have been too lazy (or busy?) to track other good stuff down.

How funny that K is particular to red. I don't know if I would have been smart enough to pick up on that pattern.

Will has a bunch of fabric and wooden teethers, and seems happy to chew indiscriminantly on whichever one is in arm's reach.

One thing he's never put in his mouth on his own - his toes. He's my first kiddo who couldn't care less about them. He'll give me a courtesy munch if I happen to lift them for him, but he's just humoring me.

Um, yeah. What Michele said. Drew esp loves my fingers and his own toes.

Does anything make your babies MAD when they're gnawing on them? Drew has this crazy codependent love hate thing with a couple of toys on MIL's exersaucer. He chews and slobbers and gripes and cries, then chews some more. I've started just taking those toys off since he's perfectly content and happy w/ all the other doo-hickies on the thing.

Simon's favorite is a towel doll. He knaws on pretty much everything, though.

No teeth in sight though. I wonder how long before they pop up?

Stuart is chewing on anything he can get his hands on that isn't a teether. He hates the cold on his teeth, too, which is a bit weird--I thought that was supposed to help them. His bottom front one broke through two days ago, but he's still miserable. He has been literally attached to me for the last 4 days, with the exception of some floor time, when I'm allowed to be 3 feet away. My house is a wreck and I've had two showers all week long! :

This kid is so upset by every little thing that it drives me crazy sometimes!

Yep, Moira too. She's partial to her own fingers and toes, fortunately. She's also discovered that she can make funny sounds by babbling with a finger or three in her mouth.

She's really getting mobile, which gives her an even wider selection of things to nibble. I like to put a blanket down beside my chair while I'm here at my computer and let her hang out on that. Yesterday she made her way under my desk, but I didn't realize until I felt her tasting my toes

Yesterday I had to fish a chunk of a magazine out of his mouth. He was totally planning on it being his first solids, it was already half-chewed by the time I saw it.

My hair! Sheesh, I cut it short to avoid this sort of thing, but every time he's close enough, he grabs a fistful and starts chewing.

He'll really take anything he can get his hands on. He prefers black, like Daddy's Sunday shoes while at church He tries to chew my shoulder and collar bone too.

Haha! I thought Titus was the only one. He's got a turtle that he expects to do _something_ other than what it actually does. He wants it SO bad so then when he finally gets it he's already frustrated and he yells at it too. Silly, silly babies.
