Hey Mamas! I figured I would start a new chat thread. So, how are you all hanging in there? I had cntx all yesterday (again) and by last night I started thinking, "This might be it" because they were a little more intense but then I go to bed and they go away. : They always go away in the middle of the night. Oh well. I have LOTS more pressure now though. I have an app. today to see my mw, this may very well be my last one. I hope so! Then dh, dd, and I are gonna go out to eat and to the playground for dd.
My refrigerator looks so good right now. I cleaned it out yesterday. : That was one of the main things I wanted to do before this baby comes. Oh, and I want to vaccum the stair and upstairs one last time. Perhaps I'll do that today. And I need to buy a nursing bra. That's the only thing I need to buy, other than a few food items. I've been drinking tea like crazy. RRL, PG, and Nettle tea. Anyways, how are you mamas doing?? Any last minute things before baby comes?

I'm having my birth blessing today, and am about to start cleaning house for it. I'm not 'due' for another 5 days, and not expecting baby for a couple of weeks... so I'm not going crazy just yet.

Hope your appt goes well Ecomama. I'm still in disbelief at everyone's cntx! I still don't even know what one feels like yet! I had a dream last night that I delivered tonight--hopefully that one will come true! It was a really smooth birth, too, and it was a little girl. We'll see how it matches up to the real thing.
As this week is our due date, dh and I started ramping up the DTD routine and also took a 3 mile hike today . Unfortunately my ankles are really swollen now and I am totally exhausted, so I have a good excuse to relax with the laptop and my feet up.
Last night we went to the local bar, sat outside on a swing, and I drank half a beer . It felt so good to wear a nice outfit and go out (not to mention enjoy the beer)! Later in the evening we started a new batch of homebrew and took nude photos of me for a bronze sculpture dh is going to do (he's a metalsmith). Today we're catching up on laundry, doing a thorough housecleaning, and continuing to wait for something interesting to happen.
I've been getting a few sharp pains in my cervix now and then and my underwear were soaked only in the crotch area after the hike, so I'm hoping things are starting to move along...
Hope all is well with you other mamas! Have a great weekend!

chiromama,
happy birth blessing!

I have a little left to do, not much. I also want to vacuum my stairs one more time!

I am showing little signs that it is getting close. I am having trouble with my blood sugar, which usually gets worse shortly before delivery. But who knows!!

I have a trip planned to the zoo for Thursday, and I would really like to make that trip!

Korin, have a great birth blessing!!

Of course, just like clockwork, my cntx are back. They always come back after I've been up for about an hour. And I have LOTS of pressure!! I sure do hope this baby comes out soon, I don't know how much more of this I can take. I've been dealing w/ it for just over a week now. : (But I know there are other mamas who've been dealing w/ the same thing for even longer than me...I guess I'm just a baby. ) Eww, and I'm all hot feeling.

Ugh, insomnia! Had it last night, was up til almost 4. When I finally fell asleep, I had anxiety dreams/nightmares. It was awful. Had to get up early to get the kids out the door by 9am. Thank goodness for all of DH's patience and help.

We went out to breakfast and I could barely eat for the ctxns--but eat I did!! They picked up in intensity again last night and I thought they might be going somewhere. Who knows.

I still have to pee every five minutes, riding in a car is excruciating, and OY the hot flashes! They have really kicked in now!!

Back at home now, alone, and I think I am going to nap. The eggs and potatoes and waffle are weighing me down

I'm procrastinating on finishing cleaning the bathroom. We slept til 11 this morning, and my husband said "Well, that's probably the last time we get to do that for years." We're doing a ton around the house this weekend. I totally have a second wind after feeling achy and having contractions last week. All the baby stuff is now technically done, but I don't feel like the house is organized/clean enough for the birth. And I wouldn't mind taking the car to have the interior cleaned before we put the car seat in. I also have good intentions of making some food to freeze.

I'm one word today MOODY! Nuff said.

I'm doing pretty good. This pregnancy is a far cry from the last one as far as pain/aggravation goes. Last night I woke up STARVING at 4 in the morning. That was really strange.

At my appt Thursday I had my GBS test done, waiting on the results. My iron levels were checked again, the blood apparently looked really good and I'll have the results this week. I went ahead and had her check my cervix. Fingertip dilated and soft... same as with DS1 at this time. The little guy isn't engaged, but she keeps telling me not to worry about it!

We cleaned our bedroom today... got rid of all the dusties and washed the curtains etc... It'll be nice to have a clean house to bring baby home to. Hopefully I won't have to put up with this much longer though... I'm really ready to be done.

Been having cxtns all day again! yes, cymbeline, riding in a car is excrutiating!! I keep waiting for something to happen. I hate being in this not sure yet category Every thing is done for the baby except I want to wash all the receiving blankets. Thats about it. Just playing the waiting game now....

Up with insomnia again. I've been having ctxns solidly since last night, sloooooowly getting stronger and closer together. I can really feel them in my lower back now, my pelvis, and the tops of my thighs.

I took a bath earlier this evening, that seems to bring things to a halt, but no luck. Had a spicy taco dinner after, watched a little TV, and now I'm up.

Even if things are slow, at least I'm seeing some progress! Tomorrow, I think I'll take a walk around the block and do some yoga. This baby needs some encouragement

My app. went great today. (Although driving in bad traffic for 2 hours to get there SUCKED!! :...but we found a different route for the way home, Thank GOD!!) BP's good, HB's good, I weigh the same as last week..although it was a different scale so, who knows. I'm measuring like 42-44 cm! I'm officially 39 wks today. My mw said I looked really good and relaxed. : We went out to eat after the app. and later got pizza, and rented some movies, which we're watching now. It's been a pretty good day. Finally, a day that I haven't had cntx ALL day long. I'm feeling really good. I'm kinda hoping that this dc will make his/her debut this week but, I know baby will come out when s/he is ready. I'm gonna try to be patient (well, what choice do I have really! ) and just enjoy (or try!) this last week or so being pg.

My feet look like they're eating my toes. I think I'm starting to get over the "not ready" phase.

I just got the sensation yesterday that my feet are swelling and not going down all the way when I relax, so I her you on that. Nothing else is swelling though, and my BPs have been fine, so I'm not real worried. Not much else going on here right now, the occasional BH when I do too much, but other than that I'm pretty much in a holding pattern.

DH is FINALLY getting our donation pile delivered today (which has been bugging me for, oh, the past 2 MONTHS! : ) and the rest of the baby tubs I sorted through down to the basement - I told him: Look. You won't let me do it (the stuff is pretty heavy), and it's like it's all taunting me. I know I went to 40 weeks with DS, but that's no guarantee that I will go all the way this time. I think he finally sensed the urgency in my voice. He's cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom today for me, too. He's usually great about stuff like that, but for some reason has just been dragging his feet about the clothing donation and the tubs...maybe he's not ready for the baby yet, and he feels like if he refuses to get things cleaned and organized, she won't come?

My only assignment today is packing a bag for the hospital. I think I can handle that. : (I think that is my favorite new smiley; I just love her)

My mom came out with a birth date prediction : She's saying June 24. The reason why? She was doing a sudoku puzzle thing, and the first 3 numbers were 129 (DS's bday) and the last 3 numbers were 914 (my Bday) so she got freaked out, and started looking for a string of numbers that started with 6, and found 624. So who knows, maybe the 24th is the date! My "official" due date is June 17, and I've been "feeling" the 23rd, but who knows.

Take care ladies!

Good morning, mamas!

I started out this pregnancy with a strong feeling that I'd go postdate on this one. Then I started to get antsy and figured that since dd came early, maybe ds would too. I'm 8 days out from my EDD (4 days from my EDD based on LMP instead of u/s) and starting to think again that I might be in for the long haul. I just don't get a sense of urgency from this kiddo, although we have started having conversations about how if he really wants the room to stretch his legs (poking his foot an inch out from my side!!!), there's PLENTY of room out here and we're very excited to meet him!

I've got a few things left to pack in my hospital bag but all the essentials are there. DH has the carseat cleaned and sitting on the living room floor. I'd hassle him to get it in the van, but with me procrastinating on the final packing, I don't really have a leg to stand on. There's nothing that can't be done in 10 minutes once things start getting exciting.

The last few days I've been swinging like crazy back and forth between feeling like: : : : : and : . Oy vey.

Hey mamas! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I did! On Friday afternoon I went to a co-LLL Leader's house for a meeting we had scheduled with a couple of applicants who want to become Leaders, and guess what, it turned out it wasn't a meeting, it was a little baby shower for me!!! I was so surprised! I wasn't expecting anything because I'm usually the one who is always organizing this stuff and planning parties and all (in fact the woman who took the lead on it was like, "You know, we all kept saying, too bad this shower is for you because we could really use YOU to help plan it!")

Anyway it was so nice, it was a potluck so everyone had brought some food and we just sat around and ate and talked and our kids had fun playing together. And the sweetest thing ever was what they did for a gift - instead of everyone bringing presents that I probably wouldn't need anyway, they thought about what I really could use, and they all know about my DH leaving for his overseas trip a few days after I'm due, leaving me by myself with 3 kids under 4 - SO.....they took up a collection from the other Leaders in the area and a few of the moms who come to my meetings and then they researched postpartum doula services in our area and interviewed a couple of them and gave me a card with their impressions of the various ones they contacted and $200 which they collected - they said apparently the going rate around here is $25/hour so that's enough for a couple hours a day over several days of whatever sort of help I need while DH is gone!!

That was one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me, I am so blessed to have such great friends!! : That night I had to speak at a homeschooling information night and help with fundraising, then Saturday DD had her dress rehearsal & photos for her very first dance recital, and Sunday after church we had two different parties to go to - so it was a very nice weekend but very busy - I am ready to slow down a little bit this week!

Been having tons of contractions but not the "real thing" - Sat. night I had very regular ones, lasting 45 seconds and 5 minutes apart for 2 hours - but still felt more like balling-up BH and not "real" crampy ones and sure enough, they stopped. : Oh well! I've joined the swelling club, too - my fingers look like balloons - ugh! Well, hope you all have a great week with lots more babies coming!!

Oh, what a sweet surprise!! That is the most awesome gift!! You are blessed.

I am getting ready for my weekly appointment. We DTD last night, but nothing. Didn't cause any cntrxs. I think I really have two more weeks left. And that is fine. I want to enjoy my very last pregnancy.

I think I may pack my bag though...just in case!!
