this is my first year using this method. my plants are totally flourishing. i have squash, zucchini, cantelope (hence the bamboo trellis; we'll see about that), jalepenos, green peppers, red peppers, tomato, strawberries, basil, mint, lots of red onions, parelsy and cilantro. i think i've pulled 2 weeds. how cool is that?

my little garden is 4X4. i tiered it for astethic reasons and i really like the look. it's made of cedar. next year, i may add another box. i don't think i'll do herbs though. i can easily container them and keep the box for more veggies.

i'm totally sold on this concept. soooooo easy!

Awesome! I really like the tiered look, and the little trellis in the back.

What a fabulous idea with the tiering. I started sfg. We'll see how it goes. I just finished planting yesturday. I'm in Canada. Our growing season is very short as nothing can be planted until at LEAST after our May long weekend and even that is pushing it. Most of my plants are transplanted, but I did do some seeds.

I think I will have to tier some beds next year to help with those deep rooter vegetables.

Looks great.
