My dwarfs diaper

I recently made this diaper. It's nothing spectacular or anything as it was only my second diaper I've made (and very new to the sewing world). Still plenty of learning to do. I used MamaBird's Fitted pattern and an old nightie of mine. How do you girls afford to make diapers? I'm going to have to buy the real stuff soon, and am afraid it's going to be addicting and I'm going to make WAY too many.

This is what preparing for babies is all about, making stuff for them with your own two hands.

I agree it is completely addicting. I feel like I should be in there all the time working on something. When I wake up in the middle of the night I start plotting my next dipe.

I've only got ten more weeks of sewing til my due date. I need to build my stash.

Very cute! I've just started sewing diapers for my niece, and I agree it does seem like it could become addicting. There are pictures in my sig.

I've stocked up on flannel at Joanne, and you can sometimes find it for $1 or $2 a yard. I've found terry in the remnant bin, which is cheap, and I've found fleece there too.

Keep an eye out for sales and clearance fabric, and get wool sweaters at thrift stores to make wool covers and butt sweaters.

If you want to use quality fabrics, join a fabric co-op like on Yahoo groups. You will save lots of $ and you don't have to search for the stuff yourself!
