Thanks, Ruthla...that worked for me too! Perhaps I would know that if I had actually read the directions that came with the BBT?!

Hi ladies! I recognize some of you but there are a lot of new faces--very cool. I used to post on the TTA thread a lot but I've had to cut my online time way down. I'm back with a question though!

AF started yesterday, a day or two earlier than expected. First time she's surprised me since I started charting! But I wasn't expecting her yet because my temp hadn't dropped below the CL. It didn't drop today either. In the past it has always dropped the day I started bleeding or (rarely) on the second day. The bleeding seems to be the normal amount, but why hasn't my temp dropped?

Here's my chart. You can see how much higher my temp is now then it was at the beginning of last cycle. FWIW we DTD on CD 16 with a condom and on CD 23 unprotected so I'm not thinking I'm PG, just wondering why my body is being weird. I'm taking my temp at the normal time, everything in the environment is the same, normal number of wakings with my DD, etc.

Any ideas? I guess I will just wait it out...

UNDERCOVER HIPPIE~My temps often do that. The will drop but not below the cl when af arrives. They will often stay above the cl for a few days and then plummit once I get into the 2d week of my next cycle. Not sure y though : .

My temp plummeted today to a pre O temp : ! No clue what's going on........I sure hope i'm in the lp by now! I changed my O day to cd 21 instead, and it looks like the temp is above the cl but not by much : I.

Hi Tara, welcome back!
I had the same thing happen to me this month. I always get a big drop when AF starts, but this time it didn't drop until about CD4. I still haven't figured it out, other than maybe that my bedroom temperature was higher than normal those days.

do any of you know of a site for keeping track of temps and such which is *not* geared toward ttc?

Ovusoft has an avoiding section.

Newbie!

Hello everyone!

My DS who is a BFing fiend will be 10 months old on the 15th of June and I just started my first PP period! DH and I looked at eachother and said "Oh yeah, we remember that thing!" So I'm frantically trying to brush up on my NFP rules before my period stops because I'm hoping to go back to school in January and we'd like to wait a bit for the next bundle of joy! Anyways, just wanted to say Hi and let y'all know that I'll probably be asking lots of questions in the next few weeks!

Well, Af arrived this am...shortest cycle in over a year.....only 30 DAYS!!!

Which means, my O day was more like cd 18 or 19, not sure since I was on vacation and wasn't temping. But waaay in the clear Yaaaayyy! Now we can relax for a lil while..........since my cycles are so long fertile time doesn't start til cd 10, but it can last for as long as 3 weeks . Depending on whether or not the shift is clear. The norm being about 2 weeks.

Anyone else have issues with irregular and long cycles....mine range from 28-36 days (had one that was 41 once : !) How do you handle it? Its just rough cause we've spent the last 20 days treating them as "possibly fertile." I guess it just gets scary cause my cycles have deceived me in the past......acting like I'm gonna O, and then its delayed for a while (longest it was delayed was 10 days.)

another newbie to thread...

AF just returned at 13 months pp, so I started charting again. Today is cd 14. I figured I'd come hang out here for awhile as a refresher and just to see what I can learn.

My cycles B.C. were about 31 to 38 days long... I know how you feel!

BFing...

So does BFing mess up your cycle? I mean, like I said above, I used to have long cycles, but has anyone ever gone back into no periods if the nursling starts wanting to nurse more again? And does nursing mess with the fertility signs at all?

Told you I'd have questions!

This site (http://www.hormonalforecaster.com/index.html) says their software is geared for both ttc/ tta. I just found it, so I can't really comment on how well it works. Maybe someone else is familiar with it? They seem to give you a 45 day trial period and it cost $29.99.

How cool!

I just started spotting yesterday, so this is much more relevant. It's not nearly enough for me to call it an actual period, but considering that I'm 2.5 months pp now and only nursing one baby, it's enough for me. It's safer for me to assume that I *could* get pregnant than not!

Ugh! What is happening with my chart? BTW, this is only my 2nd PP cycle and DS is nursing plenty, night and day. Here's my chart. It looks like I'm either ovulating a 2nd time or maybe "tried" to O once and didn't due to BF and trying again now. BTW, using condoms till we get this all figured out. (Also my temping on days 1-18 are wrong b/c I was using the memory feature incorrectly. Only day 8 is correct.) Any thoughts? Comments? Thanks!

Hello IM, I'm not the most experienced person to answer this question, but yes, BF'ing does mess with a person's cycles. Esp. while night-waking/nursing. It can mess up the temps and prevent ovulation, even if having a period. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book that has a section on nursing too. I believe that, yes, your period can come back and then disappear for a while, but I'm only on my second PPP and haven't experienced that yet. HTH!

I'm charting for the first time this month.

Can anone tell me what I could expect to see with the temp.'s. I'm trying to find a copy of Taking Charge of your Fertility but haven't gotten one yet.
Will I see a rise with O???

I just relalized that most of my temp.'s are wrong because the themometer said it has a memory function...so I took my temp in a pretty dark room then put it on the night table to read later...it kept saying 97.7...but now I realize I have to push the button twice. My real temp. was 97.3 this morning...but I'm only 7 days into my cycle so I don't think I missed O yet.

We're not ttc yet...but hopefully we will in a couple of months.

Going to sub to this thread. AF just arrived after a long hiatus. My third is 25 months, and I had to send Dh to the store tonight after some supplies! I had forgotten, *almost*, what to buy!

I'm pretty sure I ovulated, as my temps had a nice (slow, but that's normal for me) rise, and a steep fall this morning. Plus, I had lots of CM earlier in the month, which, along with some behavioral stuff, is pretty indicative, for me, of ovulation.
