Oh no! The rain...help!!!

I just planted my garden last week with all organic seeds. We put fresh loam and compost on the top to cover the very clay-like soil in the ground...about 3-4 inches deep.

Well, it's been raining for 2 days. It's going to rain all day tomorrow too. And I don't mean just a sprinkle, but actual pouring for hours on end.

Is my garden ruined? What should I do?

I would appreciate any help you could give me. I am just so sad...:

This happened to my garden, too. It actually hailed on it 3 times in less than 10 days! I have ties around mine, so the water would pool. The only problem I had was that some seeds scattered. I have lettuce all over hte garden I waited until it was ready, and then picked it I also looked for green bean seeds and stuff when the water would go down, and put htem back in my rows. It's been about a month now, and I did have to go in and replant a few missing plants, but overall it was just fine I actually think all that water will be good for your plants if they are still in the seed stage! Look for some sprouts after a few days of sunshine!

It's continuing to pour today, so we'll see

I am sitting here in the same boat (ha). I planted most all of my seeds last weekend, so a few things have started sprouting and appear to be ok. I will just have to wait and watch on the others. I had planted a few seeds before the last deluge that did wash away--but I just replaced those (zinnia seeds).

Me too, right down to the clay soil and loam/compost on top. The seedlings look ok, but i'm also worried that my seeds will wash away or drown. My beans, basil, cilantro and some carrots are sprouting so Im hopeful.
I'm in NH, soaking wet from the flooding last month... now this neverending rain. WHere are you? Is your ark completed yet?

We're in midcoast Maine. It's just been so rainy this spring!! I hope everything works out for you. I started with all seeds (didn't have time to get seedlings started) and am betting they all got washed away, or they're sitting in the soil drowning in water

I bought seedlings. I didn't get around to starting them anyway, and mine are always week and leggy when I do. Oh well. LOVE midcoast Maine. Its' truly god's country. I'm in Dover.
