I'm majoring in at least English, although I will probably double with a History Major. I'm going to give Sanskrit a try as well. I plan to be a College Professor or Librarian. I'm just waiting till I get closer to my Master to figure that out.

Welcome!

Dude, I'm an art major. Why I need college? Beats me, but it seems like the thing to do, and learning is good. Well except for the dumb@$$es I share classes with, other than THAT it's good.

I haven't posted in a while- good to hear how everyone is doing.

I'll be finished 1st summer session on Tues. So far I'm maintaining a 4.0, so hopefully these latest marks won't be too bad.

Currently I'm a PoliSci major, but it does seem like there are a lot of you who are nursing students, which is awesome- more great nurses are so needed!

And after Tues. I am ready for a break. It has been...interesting...trying to juggle school and 2 very active kiddos.

Ok, I'm signing off the student mamas thread. I took a test to pass out of my English Comp 101 and just got my grade, so I'm done with classes for the summer! See everyone in the fall!

Summer session begins Monday for me. 8am class and I am NOT a morning person. **ack** But it's one I really need for my major (Gender & Women's Studies), and looks interesting besides ...

I just hope the kids continue to sleep in as usual so that I can have some peace and quiet while I try to wake up.

I attend community college and our summer semester started in midMay. I am taking 2 classes. One of them is World History and another is a pass/fail class on college success skills which is a requirement for graduation. I have my last college success skills next Saturday and I have learned soooo much - yay!

I had gone to college for 7 years in the 90s without graduating, but by gosh I think I have it this time. lol I plan to transfer to a nearby university with a degree in finance and minor in math then on to get my JD/MBA.

Best wishes to all!

I bow down to you! I think it takes a lot of courage to do what you are doing.

Oh, what a drag. That's the part of going back to school I do *not* look forward to.

I have appointments to set for the "Required Nursing Information Session," and the college placement tests, which are required since I have been out of school for a long, long time (15th reunion was this year : ). I also got algebra books to brush up on, so I can do well enough on the placement test in the hopes I can begin-to-apply to the nursing program this February. But since it's a point system, and I will have only been in school for a semester, I fear I am looking at starting nursing school in Fall 08. There will be advantages to that in some ways, but not in the one-more-year-til-I-make-a-decent-living sense. And the CNM credential moves further into the future...but I'd better prepare myself for reality.

All you young mamas struggling to do this while you're young and the kids are small- keep at it! I really regret not making it happen somehow, though I did many valuable things instead. That makes me sound super old, though.

LOL At almost 32 (and pregnant) I don't know how "young" I am. Really the only reason moving forward with my education is possible right now is because I take ALL of my classes through online courses through the local community college.

Hi student mamas! I just turned in my paper for an independent study on Friday and once I finish my work in the lab (monday) I'm officially done until August. I'm having another baby soon and I think I might have been crazy to do any school work this summer!:
I've also got to study for the GRE and I think I'll try to take it this summer before school starts again. Has anyone taken this and am I insane to think that I'll be able to do this with a newborn and toddler in the house?

Another student mama here!

I'm taking 3 courses this summer : classes start July 5.

I'm getting my MLS (library science) to be a school librarian. I was a high school science teacher before having dd & I really don't want to go back into the classroom.
