Ovulatory cramps all over, not just on ovary?

I should be ovulating now, and this afternoon I started getting whole uterus and cervix and vagina cramps. At one point, I had a pain on one side, like on my ovary, but these all over cramps continue. It sort of feels like early contractions. A few months ago I had this and went to the hospital to rule out appendicitis (it wasn't). So anyway, it occurred to me that maybe this is ovulatory pain. Does anyone else have this pain all over?

I get it all over also. From my belly button to my hips hurts sooo bad for 2 days. I only have one ovary and know which side and it doesn't just hurt there for me. Don't know if it is in the range of what is normal but it happens to me too.

I have trouble with this sometimes too. Usually, I can feel a definite pinpoint sharp pain and then it kind of radiates around my entire abdomen. Sometimes not so bad, but I've been to the ER for it before too. They couldn't find anything else it could be and recommended I have U/S of my ovaries.

Sometimes the O pain gets bad enough that I take ibuprofen. The pain usually last about 1-3 days for me and sometimes keeps me awake at night. (Last cycle I felt pretty crampy, too.)

It ends up that I have multiple cysts (according to the U/S) which I believe the nurse said about 20% of women have anyway. But since I didn't have other sypmtoms, it wasn't PCOS which is one thing they wanted to check for.

Just curious, for those of you with this type of ovualtion pain - are your periods painful as well? Mine are pretty bad and I usually get cramps starting out on one side, near the ovary, and then the next couple days they radiate out over my entire abdomen, then to my hips and down my thighs. Guess I always figured it was related somehow to my ovulatory pain patterns?

My periods are also really painful. A couple days before until the day after it starts I have pain all over, down to my legs too. I did have a 4lb cyst removed about 19 yrs ago along with my ovary. But as of a year ago I didn't have any. I had an ultrasound to check because I am always in so much pain around period time. It could be that it is related to O pain.

Cramps get better with each kid - an ibuprofren usually solves it now.
