Käthe (KAY-teh) Aubrey arrived yesterday morning at 5:18, 7 lbs, 8 oz, 19.5 inches (1.5 lbs and 2 inches less than my dd - she seems so tiny). Birth went amazingly well - I had contractions on Wednesday evening that were ~7-8 minutes apart and very mild, so I didn't think too much about them. We did decide to have DH's mom come over for the night, "just in case", to stay with dd - she got here about 11 and I went to bed. I woke up with a stronger contraction at 2 am, and they were about 3 min apart, still not to bad. I called the midwife and met her at the hospital at 3:30, I was astounded to find out I was 7 cm. Less than 2 hours later Kaethe was here!
We are home now and feeling great. Käthe is nursing like a champ!
