My MIL made a comment about "when we find out the gender" in connection with being able to go to garage sales to find clothes. (as in, there aren't any garage sales in the midwest in feb) I told her that most likely the way it would work would be that we would have the baby in Feb, figure out boy/girl and then use all the gender neutral clothes from DD and go shopping afterwards. She just kind of said, "oh". I think that some people really want to know ahead of time especially if you already have one so that you can stock up if the gender is different. I'm still looking forward to the surprise.

Yes, I'm in Seoul. And that is exactly why it is outlawed here. There is a cultural preference for boys here. The pressure on some women by some conservative inlaws to produce a boy is so great that I've heard of several suicides. One, particularly gruesome one, that makes me think it would be better if they did allow gender selection.

Since Koreans are very proud of being homogenous, too, it'd be interesting to see what happened in say like 20 years when the vast majority of adults would be men.

We will absolutely find out what the sex is. I already know that I'll be having a c-section (please no flames...this will be my fifth) and I can't imagine going out to shop when I'm trying to recover from surgery. I know that you can get by with lots of gender neutral clothing, but I'm a sap for the blue/pink stuff. LOL!

We will definitely find out. I waited to have that u/s done until 24 weeks with the first one, because I was paranoid that they wouldn't be able to see the appropriate parts - LOL!!

We wont be having an Ultrasound, so its not likely to be an option, but I wouldnt want to know anyway, I want to be surprised!

We found out Adens sex. With this little one I am sure we will do the same. I am not much for he she stuff, but I want to be able to bond, and as strange and simple as it sounds knowing the sex helps.

I must know. Its a mental health issue! I need to know who has been making me sick for so long!

I'm on the fence about the whole us thing, I need to do more research. If I end up having one, I will find out, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Nope. I knew w/ my first 4 and it is WAY MORE FUN not to know!

We're not sure if we'll be having a US this time around. So, who knows.
