Crampy but no contractions?

With DS1 I ended up being induced after weeks upon weeks of consistent contractions that never went anywhere...

This time, I've had almost no contractions to speak of. A few here and there through the day, but nothing consistent at all.

However the past two or three days I'm having contstant crampiness and stabbing twinges, but still little to no contractions. What's up with that? Any explanations... ? This hurts!

I get crampy feelings low in my tummy, across my lower back, and down my legs. Sometimes it lasts for days at a time. One day I decided to press on the center of the pain to see if it would relieve it at all... much to my surprize I felt a lump there, and it moved! It was the baby putting pressure way down low and far to the side in my uterus. I don't even know how he gets his little parts in there, esp that hard. It can hurt terribly though. If DH puts pressure on the back of my hip the baby will also move and the pain will ease up.

Crampiness could mean that your cervix is ripening in preparation for labor? It can only mean good things are happening.

Ah yes, the stabbing twinges and the constant crampiness. I am as well feeling those pains. My baby was due yesterday but still hasnt arrived. But you know what they say in terms of due dates, give or take two weeks. The reason for the twinges which I believe I know what you are talking about. It is when you are walking and all of a sudden its like a shock being sent down your leg??? By that happening it makes it hard to move. Thats by the baby applying pressure as other ladies have pointed out as well. The constant crampiness could be a sign that it might be soon. I read many articles online that mention that crampiness such as a period like sensation is a hint that labor may start soon...so who knows...but good luck!!! =)
