dd is 9 days old today and while she opens her left eye to look around a bit she barely opens her right if at all. Is that normal? I see all these pic's of wide eye'd babies but I also have a very sleepy baby who's still pretty jaundiced. Only time she's ever fully awake if if she's really ticked at having to wait to eat then she's back out cold as soon as she's on the boob.

Sleepy babies are tough, she will get more alert eventually.
Have you taken her to a chiro for adjustment yet? It may be that its uncomfortable to open that eye.

My second son was like this. I don't remember now how long it was that he did that, for a month or so, I think. He's two now and I can tell that one eye is slightly different (smaller?) than the other but I bet 99.99999% of other people would never notice it.

DS1 had a blocked tear duct, so his left eye stayed shut for three months! This one seems a little better off, eye-wise. He actually does open them both now and then.
