I've just begun reading a great book. My therapist recommended it, and I think it would be a great resource to many moms, so I wanted to pass the recommendation along. It's called "Mother Nurture" by Rick Hanson, et al. It specifically targets moms of children over 1 and younger than school-age, talking about the stresses and depletions common to moms and how to start taking better care of ourselves. There are so many books for pregnant and brand new moms, but seemingly little for loving moms of toddlers, I was delighted to learn about it.

"Mother Nurture" focusses on "health in body, mind, and intimate relationships" which pretty much sums up the depletions that I and most moms I know experience! It seems quite AP-friendly so far (I've read 2 chapters) and already a ton of things have really resonated with me. There are suggestions for nutritional improvements, stress relief, communicating with your partner, and so on. Hope it can help someone else out there have a better time of mothering!

Warmly,
Carol
