Evelyn Elizabeth was born on June 3. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz & was 20 in long. I went in for a routine doc. appt on June 2 and was showing signs of pre-eclampsia, so the doc. sent me to the hospital to be induced. This was bad enough, so I'm glad that I had decided against the homebirth and at least had wrapped my head around the idea that she would be born at the hospital.
When I got to the hospital, I got Cervadil and an ambien to sleep. I was at 1 cm then. The next morning around 6:30, he came in and broke my water. I was at a 2 then. Around 12:30, they started me on Pitocin. It wasn't as evil as it was with Caleb, but I hated being confined to the bed. Anyway, I was able to relax through the contractions until they hit around 5 cm. My m/w was there by then and we went through the breathing although, I must admit, I can not breathe the right way, so we started huffing the alphabet. I don't know why but it worked, until I hit 7 cm. Then omg, I was through the roof, So the nurse checked me and I was at 7. I thought I was going to cry. So, anyway after screaching my way through 4 contractions, out popped Evie, I swear she shot out like a little bullet. She was so fast, that the doc didn't have time to put the gloves on and she landed on them and the wrapper they were in.
She was very alert and is just so precious. I'm so happy she's here!
