looking for a quality baby doll

Thread Starter
My 18mo is already such a little "mommy." I want to get her a good quality doll. Right now she's putting her large cloth diapers on her 8" vinyl cupie doll......not working very well.

Any recommendations on a quality, cloth baby-doll with removable clothing and diapers.

Thanks

Cabbage Patch babies maybe, my girl is older but loves hers and they have all kinds of neat outfits and cute diapers. They really cute and you can go online now and she can rename them with her very own made name and stuff. Remember this is the babies and not the older "Cabbage Patch kid" version. HTH!

Depends on what you are looking for- Corolle makes some really nice dolls that are actually rated for age 1 or 18 months and up (unlike most others that are for 3+). I also like Waldorf dolls, really nice dolls- though they can be pricey.

As far as dolls with plastic parts, how can you know if they contain some of the harmful stuffn like phthalates? I'm thinking about getting my dd a plastic, life-like doll instead of or in addition to a waldorf doll, but I try to be as plastic-free as possoble. We already have several smaller plastic dolls.

Most of the good companies aren't ones I've heard of, but I'll check them out and see if them have dolls. Thanks!

Well, of all the companies with an A grade, one sells dolls (international playthings, selling Gotz dolls). However, the A means they are either pvc-free or will phase them out. I sent them an email questioning the content of their dolls. Will let you know what I hear. The dolls are a bit more than the ones I saw at our local department store, but I think it's worth it to buy her one nice doll, and I am certain she would play with it lots.
