So, I make diapers for my 18 mo. niece (and have started making some for a niece/nephew that will be arriving in winter [stay and grow baby!!]). I always have to wait for the report from my sister to find out what materials work best.
So, she just sent me an email that a new diaper I made has worked very well to contain "large poos without leaking and still looks great" and with its terry soaker it doesn't even need a cover under a dress. I don't know if this is because the outer has 20% poly, it a stretch jersey knit, or if the inner is just so absorbant. But I'm so happy, because at first the diapers kept leaking.
I've listed the materials I used in my blog. I kept thinking the diaper was too bulky, others always look so trim, but I guess it works!

: Thanks. You'll have to post pictures of the things you make, too.
