Anyone recommend favorite cover bound with FOE

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a cover made from PUL or Fleece (or both) that uses FOE.

I have cut out a couple Chloe Toes Covers from fleece, but I wanted to make something else for variety. I read that some people find this cover kind of puffy (I took out 1/4" from center as recommend...so hopefully will not be puffy)

Anyway I was thinking that I should make another type so that I had some options until I could decide what I like. There are so many patterns out there I don't know what to choose.

I want something that fits well and easy to sew...and would prefer to use the FOE and not add extra elastic. For the diapers I am using the Chloe Toes fitted pattern. Which has front snaps....wondering if it is better to have side snapping cover so not to bulky in the front?

Any advice?

Also, can anyone suggest a way that I can see how the diapers fit? I am making these for my #2 that will be here in Dec. and I have no idea how to tell if I am doing a good job, or how the fit would be....

Thanks

No advice on #1 but maybe for #2 do you know someone with a babe you could just try the dipes on to get an idea. Or maybe get one of those life size dolls, some of them even have little rolls in the legs. Then the dolly could double as baby #2 first doll. Even if it's a boy, my 3yr old loves his doll. He pretends to be daddy to it.

I have the Snug Wrap pattern (from Very Baby) and it's easy peasy to sew... you can also make some alterations and make it side snapping, side aplix, front snapping, etc. (The link is in the stickies here I believe). I have used and liked the side snapping covers with my other two boys so I'm making some front, some side, etc. I figure when I figure out what works best I'll make extra of those (they are so fast to sew it'll be do-able with a newborn/small babe). It's impossible to fit a not-here-yet-baby, I know. Wish I had better advice!

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I am going to try out the VB snug wrap pattern and see how it goes. I found the modifications for adding snaps so that is probably what I will do.

I have a friend that just had a baby 3 weeks ago...if I can get them done in time...maybe he will still fit the nb size :-) Or at least the smalls

Thanks

If you have the PUL you can whip up a cover in 1/2 hour or so, it's wicked fast. Hope it works well for you! (A hint I wish I'd used... practice with FOE and scrap PUL to decide how tight you want the FOE on the legs and back).
