Alright ladies, I need advice, and I need it quick. M is nearly 8 mos old and I still have a persisting hemorrhoid from his birth. It flares up every once in awhile and has FREAKED out on me over the weekend. How do I get rid of this once and for all?

Um...I hate to say this but sometimes hemmis just don't go away for good. I got my first attack at 24 yo and have had recurring problems since. They are hereditary for me...I've never even given birth!
Most of the time they flare up when I go camping or travelling as I have unconscious barriers to pooping anywhere other than my own bathroom. Sitting in the car for a long time also brings them on. Other than that, only about once every other month do I notice a problem. Here's what I do to aviod flare ups:
*drink plenty of water
*never hold a BM
*use a fiber supplement if necessary (benefiber works for me)
*eat good roughage food like beans, greens and grapefruit
*treat hemmis the minute they appear--waiting only makes them worse
*keep treating hemmis until they go away entirely
*don't spend more time on the toilet than necessary (no reading!)
When I get a flare up you can be sure that I'm not doing at least one of these things.
