what do you use?

just baking soda? washing soda?

what sort of soap do you base it with if you make your own? all the recipes I see call for a bar of soap, is that good for my machine?

I use it when I'm washing stuff like towels!

I usually do one load every two weeks of woolens, silks and delicate cottons that I wash with a lanolin woolwash containing Eucalyptus and Lavender.

Everything else, I dump in some baking soda and vinegar and about 15 drops each of Ravensara and Bitter Orange essential oils. Both of these EO's are inexpensive, and the Ravensara freshens my whole house with a licorice-like scent and the resulting clean clothes smell GREAT.

I've THOUGHT about mixing up my own detergent for years but have never gotten around to it.

Wow love the ideas of no more laundry detergent. I will have to try it!
