I use burts bees... i'm not sure about the stinging factor. Ds doesn't like anything in his eyes. Maybe you could try the baby bee sample pack. The little shampoo bar I got in it has lasted for months and I use it everyother night.

Hello
I looooove the smell of Burt's Bees, but unfortunately it always stung my boys eyes (we used both of the baby body and shampoo bars and milk bath). FWIU, in order for products to become "tear-free", the product has to go through a chemical process/change. My HFS "go-to" warned me against going with "tear-free" products, but I never did find out what exactly the process/change was and why it was so bad. I've seen some "natural" baby products labeled "tear-free", but I'm not certain they were labeled "100% natural" either, KWIM? Even though I was always careful when shampooing, cleaning and rinsing, my little ones would still splash and play and our baths while using Burt's always ended with , so we are no longer using it Good-bye yummy Burt's Bees smell (sniff-sniff)...LOL

Tear free simply means that the pH is closer to that of natural tears. Shampoos usually have a basic pH, which sting eyes, so manufacturers yank the pH down lower. Lower pH may not clean as well, but it doesn't irritate eyes.

If it's a baby, why not use baby bath wash or oatmeal-based cleansers? That's gentle. A good fingerpad scrubbing of the scalp should get a kid's head clean. They don't have the nasty oils and funky odors that adults have.
