Boy, I hope I'm in labor...

because if I'm not, I have a sticky weekend ahead of me!

I'm vbacing, and am currently 10 days past my EDD. I cannot go even one day past my EDD in the care of my midwives, who I love. As they said, if I chose to go one day past, I would be transferred to an OB at the hospital, almost all of whom are hostile to vbac. Doesn't sound pleasant to me.

So, if I don't labor before Saturday, I go into the hospital, they break my water, wait 12 hours and hope I go into labor. If not, I get another cesarean.

This morning, per my midwive's suggestion, I took castor oil. Holy diahrrea, Batman. It's not pleasant, but I did start having light contrax around noon. At 2:30 I got acupuncture. Then went for a long walk and had a hot bath. Around 6 I started having contrax about 10 minutes apart, achey, but not painful.

I'm so paranoid they're going to quit when I go to bed. I've never had them this regular, but they're not progressing very quickly so I'm nervous...

I hope this is the real thing... I truly want to avoid the hospital scenario!!

Happy birthing everyone!

Blessings to you and your little one, for a safe "ride!" I hope that it is labor, and I am sending prayers your way that this birth is everything you want it to be.

Labor to you. I'm 11 days past, and though I don't have an induction/c-section looming (I do pray you are in labor ... what a yucky thing to have to worry about), I too am hoping I'm in labor. If it helps, I had "early labor" type contractions today from 4:30am until about 6:00pm, and then it started to kick up the notch. I'm about to 6-8 minutes apart, and they have definitely grown in intensity - so much so I actually told dh to start filling the pool. Have your contractions continued even with getting up and moving around and changing positions? I would think if they have, you are for sure in labor. Keep us updated! (And man are you brave for doing castor oil! My mw brought some over yesterday just for me to keep and consider ... )

Sending labor vibes to all the mamas who need it!!!!

I'm hoping I'm in labor now also! I've been having contractions about 6-8 min apart since about 7PM or so and they've been pretty steady. Getting more frequent and stronger, etc... Nothing to keep me up and excited for. hehe- I'm just going to go to bed and rest though because this happened last week as well! and I took castor oil because it'd been going for about 3 days so I was told to do it to see if I can't get things on a regular labor pattern and it didn't help.... Good luck to you though!!!!

Wow, you just managed to get the first smile out of me today! (Its been a rough one.)

Seriously though, I so hope this works out for you and that you are able to get the birth that you want. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Here's hoping you're in labor, or even delivered the baby by now. Good luck!

ARGH!! The contrax totally went away when I went to bed! I mean, not even one all night long, and not one this morning! And last night they were consistant even when I moved around, walked, sat down, etc.

Today at my appointment I have an NST and ultrasound (again) and my midwife is going to sweep my membranes. I have a bad feeling about the whole hospital thing on Saturday, I just don't know what to do about it...

My contractions went away last night also... I've had some this morning but I'm not timing them anymore. LOL I get my hopes up.....hehe. Best of luck to you though mama!

Aww, sorry to hear AugustineM! Hang in there mama!!

My cntx have been the same way. They'll be pretty darn consistant ALL day long and then as soon as I go to bed..BOOM!..they're gone like the wind. It's so frustrating.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I'll pray that the sweeping membranes gets your labor going!

Thanks everyone, I think that the sweeping membranes did the trick. Boy did she sweep them -- ouch! My fluid level is a little low, so my midwives said they really hope this works.

Oh, and other good news -- I am 3 cm dialated and almost fully effaced. Guess those contrax last night were really doing something. The ones I'm having now are slightly painful and fairly regular.

Dare I hope??

Good luck to you and I hope it works. The dr did my membranes yesterday and here I am, typing on a computer at home :

What did it for me last time I was pregnant was getting a spa pedicure, complete with foot message. I went into labor about two hours after. I got a pedicure a week ago and boy did I have contractions afterwards.

Oh, I so hope so. Keep us posted when you can. Tell the baby you can't wait to hold and cuddle him and that the world outside is a much more exciting place than inside.
