I figure I'm safe to post now.

In the fall of 2004 I was posting on baby boards about being pregnant, I then miscarried two days before Christmas and stopped posting. I got pregnant again in March 2005 and was paranoid that I'd jinx myself by posting about my pregnancy. Hayley was born on December 21st 2005 and I figure now that she's almost 6 months old I can probably post about her now!

We really want to start trying for another baby by the end of the year but I'm pretty paranoid for two reasons;

1. My planned homebirth turned into a c-section.

2. I feel like I'm betraying Hayley by having more kids!

Well see how I feel about this in a couple of months. Hayley is exclusively breastfeed and so far there are no signs that I'm ovulating.

Here's a pic of my little bird.

what a cutie she is.
Welcome to the DDC 2005. Two of our mommas is already pregnant again. I know one momma who got pregnant5 weeks post partum while breastfeeding. she said she is so happy they were close togetther like that and wishes that she had her third right away too. (they are all grown up now)

i can understand the betrayal thing. I still sometimes deal with it. Josephine has started to really get into things, so my three year old Jewely isn't getting enough attention, or as much as she was and i feel badly, but really she is doing ok very happy girl and loved you can tell that. my husband would flip if we got pregnant again if we even got pregnant in the next couple of years.

anyways welcome

Awww! Haylee is beautiful - Congrats

I know what you mean about having another - sometimes i feel so blessed with my sweet baby girl I feel I'd be asking too much for another.... but love is not finite - it just multiplies

Welcome to the DDC - great group of mamas here!

Yes so WHO else is pregnant? Need to know!!!

And of course WELCOME...your baby is beautiful, feel free to post many, many pictures of her. We here at the Dec 2005 DDC are obsessed with baby pix!

Also, in terms of planning a VBAC (and you may already be aware of this, so feel free to ignore me ), the length of time in between your cesarean birth and your next birth is important. Many practitioners will recommend spacing your children at least a year and a half to two years apart.

Take care,

Kelli

so sorry your HB turned into a c/s. i "know" how disappointign it can feel to have a planned natural birth turn into a c/s. but...you aren't stuck with c/s's necessarily for your next ones. just do a lot of research and give yourself some time to get comfortable with your body.

your little girl is so very cute! we have a thread for july pix. go add tons there! we would love to see them.

and i know what you mean about additional children, but believe it or not, you will not love your littel girl any less with more dc...you will simply add more love to your life. i know it sounds weird when you only have one, and thats how i felt with ds1 for 8 years, but wow! its incredible how much love you have that is untapped until you have more kiddos.

welcome aboard!

Yeah. Heh. About that whole "no signs of ovulation" thing? I bet my fertility on that. Breastfeeding my 6-month-old I thought I'd know when I was fertile again.
Joke's on me.

Welcome to the due date club. I am so sorry for your loss. I too was a bit cautious about getting to excited for my pregnancy after my daughter was stillborn in 2003.

Your little Hayley is just precious. I am sorry that your homebirth turned into a c-sec. You can have a VBAC, but you need to wait at least a year before getting pregnant again to give you incision time to heal (some dr's say 18 months is better). I know what you mean about the betrayal thing. My boys are about 4.5yrs apart and I still felt that way. But having Tharen didn't change my love for Kearnan, and Kearnan is so in love with his baby brother that I am glad we decided to do it. But I know I couldn't have handled it if they were much closer in age. I love my kiddos, but two under three might kill me.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I think we'll start trying around December of this year, that'll give us a bit of time between babies.
