I was due on Tuesday, the 12th.I know she will come when she is ready, iam just VERY ready.I have had contractions off and on for weeks and all most all the time since Sunday, i am sooooo stressed.I just want her here safe in my arms. i am fed up with people saying, "no baby yet?" I am HUGE and hot.My midwfie is going to talk to me a stripping my membrane on tueday of next week.Last week she checked me and i hadnt changed at all in 10 days. 10 days of contracting all the flipping time and my cervix is still the same. I have heard that prodromal labor for along time colud mean short, fast, hard labor. Is that true?
Anybody else past their due date and worn out?

I was due Monday the 12th, too. I counted to the beginning of 43 weeks and it blew my mind that that puts me into July. : DD was born just a couple days into week 38 so just hitting my due date was pretty surprising to me. I'm trying really, really hard to be patient about this -- he'll come when he's ready, 41-42 weeks is more of a "normal" timeframe anyway, yada yada yada. But when it hurts to roll over in bed, I'm always overheating, and dd wants to constantly climb on my belly, I just want this baby to decide to be born already!

I was having tons of prodromal labor up until a few days ago and now he seems to have chilled out. I'm still having contractions periodically but not regularly or for any length of time. I'm just really uncomfortable. We're looking at an NST at the hospital on Monday if he hasn't made his appearance by then; I'll be 41 weeks. Then a checkup on Tuesday and possibly another NST on Thursday. Frankly, if the first NST is fine, I'm inclined to skip the rest and just hibernate at home until he decides to make life exciting for us. He's still pretty active, always stretching for leg room, and I know I have plenty of amniotic fluid, so I'm not going to stress about that side of things.

Well, my due date isn't until tomorrow but I wanted to say that with my first baby, throughout my last trimester, I had contractions most evenings, about 5 mins apart for several hours. Everyone thought I'd go early... she was born at 41-weeks 1 day. I didn't know I was in early labor when it finally came. I had a few stronger contractions, then a big one that broke my water (and scared the poo out of me, loud POP, giant gush, etc.) then HARD contractions hit (double and triple peaking almost immediately) and she was born 3 hours later, it was very intense and even a little traumatizing... so there may be something to the prodromal labor = fast, hard labor idea. (You can read the birth story if you click on her name in my sig.)

With this baby I started having the 5 min apart contrax at 14-weeks and this last tri they are commonly 2-4 mins apart, and much stronger than my first pg... so if this theory is true my water is going to break and this baby may just shoot right out! (okay, wishful thinking) My mw has prepared us for what to do if the baby gets here before she does though, cuz it's quite possible.

I'm beyond exhausted from the prelabor too. I don't leave my house and I don't talk to people anymore, even my poor dh. I'm just too tired and too focused on my body and the baby.

My EDD was June 10, so that puts me at 41wks tomorrow! This is a shocker.

My first was born on his due date.
My second was born at 38w+4.
I started having ctxns, and was slightly effaced and dilated at the beginning of May, so it is a shocker that she's still inside!!!!

Anyway, with the severe ear infection I had this week, I was kind of glad I could care for her on auto-pilot. If she were born in the midst of all of it, well, it would have been horrific. I was screaming from the pain, unable to take pain meds because of the pregnancy & allergies to meds. It has been awful.

Today I woke up at 5am with intense ctxns 2min apart for an hour. I had DH set up the birth pool and call the mw. After an hour, she arrived, and the ctxns had subsided. 10min apart, I was exhausted. She checked me, I was 4cm and 100% effaced. She stripped the membranes and I had LOTS of bloody show.

She suggested getting rest, so I slept all morning. My first real sleep in days broken only by the contractions. I'm eating lunch, taking it easy, and hoping that this means BABY!!! (But I'm not holding my breath )

My first due date is Sunday...so not overdue yet...

What exactly is stripping membranes? We talked about that, but I am not sure what it all entails..

I, personally, wouldn't try stipping membranes unless there was some sort of distress going on with me or the baby. I like to reserve all forms of induction for special circumstances. There's really no reason to rush things, even though we are all very uncomfortable and want to meet our babies. Its the baby's body that tells our bodies when it is ready to be born, so if you're not in labor yet, your baby just isn't quite ready. As long as you're both still healthy its all good. Just a few more days I'm sure.

Hi all.....still pregnant here, too, but not overdue quite yet - my due date is Monday (and this was based on charting my exact day of ovulation/conception, so I'm very confident about the date).

I am getting impatient, but suprisingly not TOO bad yet, considering DH will be on a flight to Europe a week from right now That's the only reason I'm even anxious about it - I still feel great, I'm still going about my usual routine, etc....I know babies come when they're ready, but I keep saying, come on Andrew, don't you want to meet your daddy when you come out?!?!?!

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for two of DH's colleagues and a friend who was due in JULY had her 11-day-old baby there (argh!! that was a little frustrating! He looked too big to really have been 5 weeks early, and he was released after 24 hours in the hospital, so they think her dates may have been off) but I remembered how she had announced her pregnancy a few weeks AFTER I did, and I was like, 'no fair!' as my DD would say But then I rushed from the party to lead an LLL meeting, and I kept thinking, OK, maybe being surrounded by moms & little babies at both events will trigger something hormonally! But no.

Anyway, last week I was checked and I was about 1.5 cm dilated but no effacement at all. Next mw appt and NST on Tuesday, when I'll be a day late. I have been betting I'll go into labor on my due date and have the baby on Tuesday though, so we'll see what happens! to everyone still waiting!!

Is anyone else sweating like crazy at night? I mean, I know summer is here and its warmer, but here in Seattle its still raining and even on sunny days only around 75. Doesn't matter how cold the room is at night, I wake up 5 or 6 times a night drenched in sweat. I sleep in just a sports bra and light pj pants and with my hair up, yet I wake up with wet hair and clothes. I remember AFTER dd was born I had this for a few weeks, as people tend to after they go through physically traumatic events... but this just seems weird to me. I get really mad if anyone touches me while I'm sleeping too, because I'm too hot and its hard enough to sleep with the baby dancing and the contractions and having to pee all night and my hips aching and I can't breathe or turn over.... argh! :
And, I can't open the window or turn on a fan because dh gets sick if he breathes cool air when he's sleeping, even in summer. Crazy man sleeps in pj pants, 2 t-shirts, a sweatshirt, AND wraps up in a sheet and comforter. I about pass out just looking at him.
I'm sure it doesn't help that our mattress cover is one of those waterproof ones with plastic backing, no breathablility at all... but its a new mattress and we're trying to protect it from waters breaking and leaky diapers.

I'm not past due yet with this pregnancy but I was with #3. 10+ days. I had contrax for about 6-8 weeks before he was born. Same with #2. Lots of heavy contrax for hours every day and then nothing. No change since the previous week. : BUT... both labors (#2 AND #3) were about 6 hours from start of waters breakings (with #2) or heavy rountine contrax every 5 minutes (with #3) to baby in arms. So it does seem to work for me.

I was due last Saturday so tomorrow I'll officially be 41wks. I must say that I am extremely ready for this baby to come out. I've been walking hills, stairs, etc. After our walk last night I started having some cntx that lasted pretty much all night and I've had them pretty consistantly all day but nothing really major or different is happening. I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting. Hopefully our walk tonight will help. We'll see. I have an app. tomorrow so we'll see what my mw says about induction. I know she's laid back about induction and goes to the full 42 w/o really making a big deal but I'm sure she'll bring it up tomorrow. We're all just talking to the baby, trying to encourage him/her to make the grand debut. I can't say that I blame him/her for wanting to stay in, nice and warm! But sheesh, there's like NO room anymore! Hehehe.

I'm past due also!!!

Was due last saturday the 10th and i'm pretty sure that's the correct date due to charting and stuff --

It's really driving my crazy because with DD she was born 2 wks early and I've been ready with this one for that long! But i know the baby will come when the baby is ready so I just keep telling myself that! I've been having contractions all the time and they seem to become pretty steady and start getting stronger and more intense then each time I decide to go to sleep and get some rest I don't wake up until morning and nothing has progressed since. I'm hoping this weekend! Best of luck to all you other mama's!!

I think I"m the 'most' overdue at this point. EDD was 6/8 so I'm 41 w 1 d. I'm very ready, but not miserable (thankfully!!) We have plans to go to the movie tonight, so maybe that will do it! We have been going for walks everynight, doing hills and what not, but not a single contraction.

I am not worried about anything, as It's completley normal for a first timer to go 8-10 days past due. My MW did a mild non stress test yesterday, we listened to the HB, and then annoyed the babe a little to check for accels/decels and all was well. you can still feel that there is plenty of fluid, so I'm just not too worried. There are definitely times of movement, and times of rest.. much longer than before.
Soon soon soon. Right?

I was "due" yesterday. This is my second, my first was 40 weeks 6 days(well he started to come at 40 weeks 3 days but it took him a while to come out)
I am getting super crabby and anxious. I REALLY don't want to make it to my NST and ultrasound next week. But I am only having cramping, nothing that I feel is strong enough to do much. My water broke first with my last one, I kind of hope that doesn't happen this time, unless REAL labor comes soon after. Best of luck to you all.

The only thing I've been worried about is I keeping having dreams of a still born birth. And DH had one almost the same as one of mine the other night. Other than that that's the only thing I'm worried about....

Chiromama -- I think I might beat you out! I was due 6/5. I'm 12 days over my due date.

I posted recently about thinking I was in labor. Well, I guess I still might be in labor!! This is soooo weird becuase my first was born on his due date and the labor was like 8 hours long, total. No prodromal labor at all!! This time I've been having off and on contrax, but not very strong, since the 3rd of June. I took castor oil on Wednesday and had strong contrax, but they went away at night. Then yesterday the mw sweeped my membranes (the second time). I had really strong contrax 3-4 minutes apart for the evening. ALMOST left for the hospital but tried relaxing and they slowed way down but didn't stop. Had some strong ones today and lost my mucus plug in one big glob. Gross. Now it's evening and I haven't had one for several hours. Frustrating because tomorrow I'm going into the hospital to be "induced" as much as they can induce a vbac. They'll break my water. I feel a little nervous about this but a little better about it because the process is already started ... I'm over 3cm dialated, fully effaced, and have low fluid level.

I'm just hoping all goes quickly tomorrow. My midwife said she thought since I was so dialated and effaced it would go quickly and we'd have the baby soon after going in... crossing my fingers!!

Oh, Augustine, I will be thinking so many positive thoughts for you! It sounds like June is a month full of stubborn babies

Grace's Voice--I've been having major night sweats too! I attributed it to the ear infection even though I never had a fever. Instead I get intense hot and cold flashes. Ah, the end of pregnancy. So graceful

My mw was a little concerned about the babe this morning when she checked me. Her hb was in the low 110's. Within a couple of hours, she had perked back up to 140, prolly just as tired as her mama was and needed a nap too!

Anyway, sometimes I get a twinge of worry about going overdue, but I talk to the baby and she "tells" me she is fine. So I'm sticking with her on this one

I am really glad to see this thread, I was beginning to feel like one of the only ones left who hasn't had a baby yet I was due on Monday the 12th as well. I thought this baby would have been born long ago. I have had a few false alarms and even lost my mucus plug about 4 weeks ago or so. My other two kids were born at 34 weeks and 39 weeks, so this is just boggling my mind. Part of my brain feels many weeks over, instead of just a few days. I had a dream last night though that my baby wasn't coming until the 25th, so I may still have a ways to go. That would be 1 day before 42 weeks, so not an unusual length of time or anything, just seems really far off to me right now.

I also get the sweats. Everynight I have to wipe the sweat off my belly and chest when I go to the bathroom. I have also found that I am having hot flashes in the mornings. My poor children need to be bundled up as I turn the AC WAY down and hang out in my underwear until it passes. The most uncomfortable I am is after a night of sleep, my hips hurt SOOOOOO badly, I just wanna cry. I am also having this burning/tearing/stretching sensation just above my belly button for the past several days. It depends on how the baby is situated, so I am assuming it is just that my uterus is very stretched right now and then the baby pushes against it. I hate that feeling though, I feel like my uterus is on fire!

Soon enough though this baby will be born and I will only remember pregnancy as being wonderful, magical, and fun. And when women complain about being overdue I will go back to telling them that babies are born when they are meant to be, to not rush nature, and to apreciate their time with thier belly babe..... but for now, complain away.... I am too pregnant to care about being a hypocrite!
