If I never see another purple head.....

My 4 yr old has too many penis games to count. He loves sticking his finger in it and then putting the foreskin over--this could go on for a good 15, 20 minutes. The foreskin can also hold crayons, yes, cray-ons, just a lil' tidbit. The other day he put a bunch of thread that he found on the floor up in there and arranged it so some of it was coming out, and explained, "look mom, it looks like I'm peeing" :

And as Kristi said, every time I see his lil' purple man, it takes me by surprise, I mean, and I'm trying not to, catch my breath. It just seems wrong for me to be seeing it. Not because it is a penis, but because it is the internal part. Almost like if my hubby was walking around naked and oops, his liver went on the outside of his body. It just would be wrong, yk?

But damn, these penis games are out of control. Wondering what my lil' guy will do w/his.

I have LOL several times reading this!! I have learned a lot so far just reading the posts. As my DS gets older, I will have to get in on this thread...absolutely no previous experience with intact peni (?). Midwesterners are still circumcising their babies about 50-75% of the time, I'm told. Most of our 'friends' in this area would circ if they had a baby boy . We are proud we left what God put there there!

Amandamom: Thank you thank you thank you for this thread!!! DS is 21 months old and I noticed when we were in the shower that he pulled his forskin as back as far as it would go, and it was just a little hole for the pee to come out of, then he stuck his finger in the hole! I cringe when I think about it. I just wanted to make sure that he was normal, his penis is normal and all is ok. It looked like it should have hurt the way he pulled the skin back! I feel sooooo much better after reading this thread, thanks for starting it, I can sleep tonight (ok well in between nursings that is).
I always thought the whole thing was amusing. Maybe I was concerned for a bit about the rough tugging and retracting maybe hurting him...but in the end I figured we all know our own pain threashholds and I trusted that he did too. He never said Ouch anyway.

My son takes so much pleasure from his foreskin, I can't imagine having deprived him from it. So sad for all the amputee's.

That simile of yours reminded me of the first and only time I saw a circumcised penis 'in the flesh', so to speak. It was at boarding school in our dormitory while we were getting undressed. Those of us who noticed it were shocked... could understand what had happened to him. It looked as if his penis had been in some terrible accident.

The glans is designed as an internal organ (except during penetration, of course), so I suppose it was no wonder we stood there wide eyed with incredulity.
