I haven't posted much here in the last few months but thought I would update you all on my birth story:
Well it won't take long to tell you all the birth story cause it was quick quick quick! My water broke at 8:30 pm Saturday night, my parents took Ruby at about 11 pm and I was pretty crampy and thought I'd try to get some rest. I had two contractions while doing a hypnosis session around 12:15 and 12:45. Then one at 1:10 and one at 1:20. So I called my midwives and by the time they got here at 2 am, contractions were one and two minutes apart and I was getting in the tub. I was dilated to 9 cm at 2:30, pushed around 3, and Nora was born in the water at 3:35 am! No tearing and normal blood loss. With Ruby I had an episiotomy and then the doctor made me push the placenta out prematurly and I hemoragged so I was glad to have the complete opposite this time. Home birthing rocks! It was very intense and the final pushes were really tough and new sensations for since I had an episiotomy last time and Ruby just slipped right out. But the recovery is so much better than last time with no stitches to deal with!
Nora was 8 lbs, 5 oz (almost a whole pound more than Ruby) and 22 inches long.
Ruby was excited to meet her new baby sister today and we are resting up for some busy days ahead. Ruby is adjusting well so far, just a few meltdowns and is getting lots of extra attention from grandma and grandpa. I'm a little nervous for the weeks ahead when I'll be on my own during the day but trying not to dwell on that right now.

Congrats! I loooooooove the name Nora. We considered it for this baby. I hope I have another girl after this! Love the name Ruby too!
