but I have IGs and greyhounds.
Do you own whippets?

Hey Hope's Mom....

I do have two whippets....
Cause they are like Lay's potato chips...betch can't have just one!

Lol...that's what the breeder told us when we got our female...Julie (she was 6 months when we got her)...that we'd be back for more....we could have waited for the breeder to have pups again, but fell in love with Julie.
Of course she had 10 whippets and 6 Ridgebacks in her house....the whippets all just piled on one another, so you really wouldn't realize there were 16 dogs in her house.

She called us a year later to tell us they had a male whose Testies hadn't desended so they were looking for a good home for him (for free!) as they couldn't show him or breed him....so after talking to dh, we decided to take him in....he's my little guy...Gordie....

Dh fell in love with whippets first, I was more of a bigger dog kind of gal...but he really wanted a whippet....someday I'd like to have a greyhound....

I have a sweet sweet 7.5 year old greyhound. Aren't they the prettiest boniest dog family? I'd love an Italian Greyhound or a Whippet one day, but the greys are easier to come by & adopt!

I think that when our babies "move on", we'll probably adopt a greyhound....or rescue a whippet....I don't think we'll ever "pay" for one again....$500 is alot for a dog when you have two kids...it was different when it was just me and dh kwim??

Went to a dog show yesterday and they had rare breeds there...seen 3 long-haired whippets...they were different....I like my short haired guys though

we have one adopted grey.

I was looking into whippets and determined to get one when I saw the first greyhound I'd ever seen and I thought it was just a big whippet!

After I learned about all the greys that needed homes I had to change my mind and adopt one, and then we were "chipping" and adopted a second one. He became violent, though, and we had to give him up, which was very sad

BUT we do have our one still, and my parents ended up adopting two and fostering 2 others because they liked our boys so much!

Not exactly a VBAC conversation, but I can't keep quiet when it comes to hose hounds!

I guess this isn't much of a VBAC conversation is it...lol....

I do worry about adopting either greyhounds or whippets though....I've heard some tales about them being hard to adapt to the house and to people....although after the lives they've lived, who blames them right??? But still with what will be 2 kids by then, you can't be too careful right??

Gotta love those hounds!
