BCBS in Florida?

Does anyone know if BCBS of Florida covers birthing centers/ midwives? My sil just found out she's pregnant and she originally wanted to use a midwife but she said there's nothing in her provider book about them. Now she's signed up with an OB because she doesn't think she has a choice. I told her to call them and double check, but I thought I'd post to see if anyone knew first hand.

I am fairly certain that BCBS Will cover them in FL as they are legalized there. Tell her to call teh MW office and ask!

Insurance companies in Florida are required by law to pay for MWs, HomeBirths, birth centers, all of it. The only exception is if the insurance is being privately funded by the employer (meaning BCBS would just be doing the "paperwork", not the actual funding of the payments).
