Cross-Country Nurse-In of VS JULY 1ST 1pm!! Update #166

It seems that Victoria Secret has been giving nursing mothers a hard time. Calling breastfeeding unsanitary, equating it to changing on the sales floor, etc. I think that Victoria Secrets and the Limited Brands Company needs a wake up call. I think that a cross country nurse-in would do just that. Complete with news coverage.

Of all places for breasts to be seen as dirty and unsanitary, this takes the cake! So, anyone care to help organize one in your area? I'll gladly do it my area as well as contact the local news media.

Do you think a nurse-in on the weekend or weekday would be best? What about both a Saturday and Sunday? Or during the week Monday, Friday? I'm just trying to get a feel for what works best during this demonstrations.

Scatter, that's why I'm wondering if a two day even might be best so that people have two days to choose from ya know? But, I also don't know if that will thin out the crowds so it doesn't have the same impact.

when is world breastfeeding day? I can't remember if it is July or August. It should be held before right? I don't know about 1 or 2 days

I'm totally up for it! I'm in Medford, OR and there's one here at the mall (oh, two birds one stone LOL!)
Maybe could do one wkday one weekend day so working mamas can come too? Like Sun/Mon or Fri/Sat? One of our local hosp has a baby friendly birth center so maybe I can talk to the ladies there for some support. Hmm... and there's a LLL north and south of here (but none here) maybe they'll get involved.

Well, I'd love to on Breastfeeding day, but I think this needs to be done before then. I know we'll most likely get a local nurse-in together very soon. That doesn't mean there can't be a national one in the near future either. I'm talking to a bunch of different folks, trying to gather some info and make a plan.

i doubt LLL would get involved. i don't think they do nurse in's officially, but you could get in touch with some moms through LLL and see if they wanna join

And it sounds like I might be in the minority, but I think doing just 1 day would make for a bigger crowd and more noticeable effect, kwim?

This is sort of what I was thinking as well. And it gets news coverage more focused.
