Any idea/guess?

I was talking to a friend about extended nursing and mentioned how the world-wide average for a child to wean is 4 years old. She asked what the average was for CLW for just developed countries, like the U.S.

From what I know, there's been no studies? I told her that from what I have seen on the boards, it seems like between 2-3 years appears to be the common CLW age.

Thoughts?

I would guess that children in the US (and other developed countries) who are allowed to wean themselves would do so, on average, at the same age that children world-wide do so, i.e., 4.2 years.
