She's Here!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At 12:06 this morning, Amelia Mae was born!!!

I woke up at 4am yesterday having bloody show and was pretty crampy. I was having some good contractions too. I got up around 6:30, and by 8 was pooped, so I went back to bed. I slept for a couple of hours and the contractions went away.
So, for the rest of the day, I just hung out at the house and ran normal errands...walmart, etc. Then my midwife came over for my appointment (I think I posted about that) and I was dilated to a 4 and she stripped my membranes. Around 4:30 things really started picking up. By 7, I was in full blown labor and we had to send Seth to a friend's house to play. At 8, Jeremy went to get Seth and my friend and doula Heidi, came over to help me. I just kept working with my contractions by squatting (and chanting OPEN!) to help open up my cervix.
Around 9:30 or so (I think), my midwife got here and I got into the pool. Boy did that feel good!!!!
Things really kicked into gear around 10:30 and at 11ish, my water broke in the middle of a contraction. After that, they were one on top of another and I knew I was almost done!!!!
I had the urge to push, but really didn't want to since I tore so bad with Seth, so i tried really hard just to breathe and let her come down on her own. But, I did one big push and her head came out. I said, "That felt so good!". No one realized what I meant until Vivian, my midwife, said, "OH! there's her head!!! She's just looking around". One more push and she was out!!!

Amelia weighs 7.15 and is 20.5 inches long. I am still in shock at how small she is compared to Seth!

I love the name.....we were thinking of it as a middle name as my grandpa's mother was named that and I do have a friend with that name.
