Imaginary friends your kids have... or that you've had? - Page 3

Dd 5 has an imaginary friend named Stacy. Stacy has lived with us now for over a year. Stacy's mom said it was okay she could stay as long as she wanted. LOL Dd plays with her, she sleeps with her, she eats with us. In a restaurant Stacy has to have her own chair. I always wondered if it was because dd is an only child. Dd will come in and tell me something funny Stacy has said or done. I think it is so cute. I don't recall having an imaginary friend as a child.

my 3.5 y.o. dd has an imaginary friend named "Sedda". You know, I'm not sure on the spelling there but that's what it sounds like. Lately she's also been talking to "Cassie". She'll often announce that Sedda has joined us at restaurants when we're eating or that Sedda works at whatever store we may be at. She talks to Cassie on the phone a lot.
Sedda changes form often... sometimes being a baby, sometime big... depends.
I was afraid I didn't play with dd enough so she had to make up friends??
but, it sounds like lots of kids have imaginary friends for whatever reason.

My dd's preschool teacher said it was very normal and usually seen in kids who were very intelligent. So I wouldn't worry!

My brother had an imaginary friend named Pogey who was 100 years old. I never had any of my own, but I borrowed his. I think he had some other ones, too, but Pogey was the most popular.
