dd is 6m will be 7m on the 8th. she has been crawling for about a month now. not perfect but she can get where she wants in seconds flat. anyways last night i went to the fridge to get some juice and i left dd on the floor to crawl around. when i came back in she had pulled herself up onto a foot stool! isn't she too young to be doing this. when do infants usually start walking.

Ds1 could stand before he could crawl, so about 6months. He started cruising (walking while holding the edge of furniture) around 8 months, but he didn't walk on his own until just after his first b-day. So early standing doesn't necessarily equal early walking. I think your dd is probably a bit on the early side (just as ds1 was) but still in the range of normal. She may not walk for a long time yet, or she could be like my little brother and start walking by 9 months. It is unusual but not unheard of.

Luka just turned 6 mos., has been crawling and pulling up on stuff for about 3 weeks. He is starting to cruise very slowly along the furniture, but I'm sure he won't walk independently for at least another 2-3 months. Most babies start walking between 9-15 mos. but I have heard of babies walking at 7-8 mos.
It's pretty surprising to walk into a room and see your 6 mo. old standng up on the couch, though! My oldest crawled at 9 mos. and walked at 12 so this seems crazy early to me.

Dylan will be 6 mos on the 4th. He started crawling when he turned five months and a week later he was pulling himself up on things. Now he is pulling up and standing for a loonngg time. It is so freaky, isn't it!

I just posted a very similar thread http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=472794
That was last week and now my DD is letting go while standing up. My other DD took her first unassisted steps at 7 months, 1 week. My Ped said this one, will be just the same most likely.
So, it does happen! Walking young means lots and lots of bumps and bruises though. If you have hard floors, get some big throw rugs ASAP.

m pulled himself up for the first time yesterday! he'd been scooting and bellyflopping around since about 5 months, then started crawling a little (we called it offical last week). k didn't crawl until 7.5 months and didn't take her first step until almost 13 months; she pulled up around 9.5-10 months. i'm totally afraid m will be walking by next month!

E is not doing anything. he is 6 months this coming Saturday.
ds1 walked around 7 months. he never crawled. the other day we were having dinner and he was telling me about the bump he has on his head. thats the same bump that he got when he was walking and falling all the time (i just thought it went away eventually and never realized he will have it permanently).
ds2 never crawled either. he didn't walk until after his first birthday.
so...all babes are different. im trying really hard not to be surprised that E is not crawling, rolling or anything else at 6 months.
good luck..and like Spark said, invest in some area rugs...with padding!!! my ds1's bump is pretty large and i tried everythign i could to protect him but at 7 months, they do not have the required balance.

DD pulled herself up today for the first time while holding my hands. She is kind of scooting around somehow on the floor but nothing that I can yet call crawling. I'm praying that she does crawl first...I can't deal with a 7 mo old walker...DS didn't walk until 15 mo so this just all seems so doggone early to me.
