NB Diapering: If you had to pick just one diaper... - Page 3

Green Mountain Diapers' infant fitted diapers--they are similar to kissaluvs but 100% cotton and quite a bit cheaper. They say 5-13 lbs but fit my fairly chunky DD until 15 lbs. I used a Bummis Super Whisper Wrap until she grew into her wool covers (she was around 7 lbs at birth but the wool didn't fit until closer to 9 lbs). I like both the Stacinator Super Stretch and Imse Vimse bumpy wool newborn covers.

Flats and pins and pull-on covers.

They're way more versatile than even prefolds and great on the wallet!

my faves in the newborn stash were

loved the sugarplumbaby fitteds they really lasted quite a while too.
the FLAM because it fit sos great in the beginning on a chicken leg baby and later when he morphed into the stay puff marshmellow baby.
LOVED the VK in the early days but really they only lasted about a week or so.
preferred side snapping some days front on other days

and couldn't have lived without soakers and longies!

My DD was in them with BSWW and Imse Vimse Bumpy covers. They were awesome!! I think they are a great NB dipe. The only thing we ran into was that my DD grew so fast that she had almost outgrown them at 6 weeks! but I don't regret getting them because they made things so easy in those first weeks and they are in such good condition that I'm making a lot of money back by reselling them right now.

I'm loving my hemp prefolds with Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers in size NB. It's true, though , that we're not going to get a lot of wear out of the NB covers as she's 10 lbs and may only be able to wear them for a few more weeks. But, I can sell them.

First runner up is the Niji covers I got used along with the PFs. FBs are cute and work ok but only today, at one month, do they fit her legs well. I expect I'll like them more as she gets bigger.

I really, really, really loved the Kissaluvs 0's on my newborn.

For covers I liked the BSWW size newborn and the WeeBees snap.

CPFs!!! No question! As for covers, I haven't found THE perfect nb cover but BSWW fit my nb's skinny legs better than proraps which left a gap.

Kissaluvs 0 with proraps
Not fancy at all but fully functional, easy to use and cheap.

It's to hard to pick one!

I liked kissaluvs 0s a lot better than I had thought I would. They're stretchy and soft. My absolute favs are a tie between fitteds- kindhearted women smalls and newborn bizzy b hives. After the first month, elbee smalls were my fav. I loved soft wool soakers best for a newborn.

Well...I haven't had the chance to use them yet...but:

Muttaqin NB fitteds
with Mosaic Moon soakers

Mainstream: I have wanted to try the new organic motherease xsmall sandies.. I did have some kissaluv 0 last time and they worked well, but I had one snap get loose, and I lost faith in them.. with proraps newborns cover

I'd get infant prefolds (chinese or indian, doesn't matter which) and white ProRap newborn covers (white ProRaps are made with PUL, but colored ones are made with something else). When it was time for small covers, I'd buy Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. I like the umbilical cord cut-out on the ProRap newborn covers, but I find the stiffer material of the Bummis SWW easier to work with.

And you can skip the newborn covers entirely if you have a relatively large baby and are feeling frugal, but I liked the smaller newborn covers on my 8lb, 5oz newborn for the first 6 weeks.

Hey, I just wanted to mention, there are some newborn diaper lots on the new swap forum here on mdc!
Oh, yeah. I bought almost all of my nb dipes used!! They get so little use anyway that most of em were practically new!

Oooo... Just one would be Kissaluv 0's with Bummis Super Whisper Wraps, but I'd try desparately to sneak some prefolds in too. :

I had a newborn Poochies and it fit him well from the beginning and it lasted longer than most of his other newborn diapers. It was great.
