Lots! Yes Kelly Clarkson & Coldplay. Plus LOTS of other stuff. Are we talking strictly pop? What about Dylan or Bowie or The Beatles or The Boss? It's pretty mainstream stuff but not really closet-listening material...hmmm. Or music that's mainstream but still considered respectable like The Arcade Fire or Arctic Monkeys? OK, I'll stick with stuff that is pure poppy goodness:

Madonna. Grew up with it. Still love it. Shut up!
Hit Me Baby One More Time by Ms. Spears. Her only good song methinks.
Prince
Dixie Chicks (You know you love it!
Dwight Yoakam :

Lots of stuff is questionable--

Like top 40 mainstream..
The Arcade Fire is mainstream?? I LOVE them!

Yeah I kind of think the Arcade Fire is mainstream (I love them too--it's all I listened to in my car for a year!). They're incredibly famous and they're played on the radio here.
I understand that you mean Top 40 radio-play though.

I also like that song "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce and "Can't Get you Out of My Head" by Kylie Minogue.

I like Arcade Fire, but they're not mainstream here.

Beck (does he count?)

And it's funny, ITA agree with some of the above, esp. Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson.

What about The Killers? I LOVED them for about a week.

Coldplay, White Stripes, the Strokes, and : Usher...

So I have to ask, since so many of you listed Kelly Clarkson, why? There must be something I'm missing...

I love the Beastie Boys.

Love the Beastie Boys, too...but I'm not so sure I'd consider them mainstream. Maybe the mainstream of indie like Beck (love Beck) but not like top 40 mainstream.

Wow, I want to live in the town where Arcade Fire is mainstream! lol!

I love Prince and Madonna's old stuff is pretty good. As for current mainstream artists I like...let's see -
Missy Elliott
Hmm, that's all I can think of right now.
I do know who I can't stand...Shakira and the Black Eyed Peas are probably my least favorite popular *artists*.

They seriously do not play Arcade Fire on the radio where you guys live?? I guess it's the "alternative" station but alternative meaning Matchbox 20 and Three Doors Down.
I do not even know what is mainstream anymore!! That's how out of touch with music I am!!

Hmmm...I guess that's true!

Radio in Philadelphia sucks, pardon my french. Unless you can get one of the college stations, which doesn't happen very often for me.

I saw Beck at Penn before he released Sea Change; really small venue, it was amazing! I almost cried.

I went to one during the same tour (I'm assuming) and it was incredible.

Just wanted to point out that I am in no way putting Beck and Kelly Clarkson in the same category

Absolutely!
I used to listen to Princeton radio (103.3) back in the day and they played awesome indie.
Saw Beck at the Spectrum in Philly in the early 90s and there weren't many people at all - in fact, it was all floor standing and we were up front. One of my all time favorite shows.
