Something interesting I noticed with Ds from a young age. When I would leave him at the gym daycare, as long as I handed him to the girl he was fine and would smile and wave goodbye to me. If I tried to set him down to play and leave he would look around frantic and start to cry. My interpretation: if I give him to someone, then he can trust them to take of him, but just sitting on the floor left him wondering who would take care of him while I was gone.
