Finally after searching and searching and asking around, we found a midwife in our hometown. We were planning on having a UC because my CNM cannot legally perform homebirths, and there's no way i'm going back to the hospital.
I'm still going to my CNM for prenatals, and I've been having some early labor issues late at night, so I think its a good idea to have someone keep watch on me. I feel so much better than someone who can handle situations ( tearing, bleeding, me freaking out! ) will be there- as opposed to making poor DH deal with everything. Which I was comfortable with and so was he, but I'd like him to enjoy the experience! On a side note, I just about died when the MW told me her fees for prenatal care, delivery, and post partum care. And not because she was expensive, but because with our first we had an OB and paid cash.....like triple what the MW is charging us. Grrrrrrr....!!!!! And that didn't include any post partum care. Just a 6 week "how ya doin" checkup. Pffft oh well live and learn.
